IMO we should try to keep all the comments in one thread... this seems as good as any.

As a former modder, I fully support the redoing of the X engine. I really like how it's going back to it's roots while also moving into the future. And I bet a whole bunch of people will be glad to have a bonafide cockpit. I really hope Egosoft releases some offical tools or at the very least keeps working with the modding community more!

This will definitely be a day 1 buy. :)

I have to agree with everything that has been said in this thread and the others i have read, However i am also a little Disappointed that all the pictures supplied in the locked threads are only thubnail size, some of them are new, from what i can see, some were shown on the Gamescon Video.

Most Importantly though, i think a lot of questions have been answered, and for me, they have been answered in a way that makes this game back to a day one Purchase, however some of the answers do raise new questions (which im still Formulating.)

Great Job Egosoft, Congratulations to everyone involved this is starting to look like its going to shape up to become one of my all time favourite games.

Also using this existing thread because reams of 'AWESOME' threads would be silly no matter how much I truely I think that applies.

I know the Tech Sticky says wait for system requirements. What would be useful though would be any early indication (no guarantees implied) of what would probably not work. What about likelihood of older single core, or even Duo cpus working OK, and below what fixed clockspeed would the cpu definitely struggle? Will XP and Vista still cut the mustard? What approx types of graphics cards are definitely underpowered?

The need to know some parametric envelope data soonish is increasingly important for those who have a marginal or even reasonable rig for TC now but who need to plan if and when and what to upgrade (Christmas, hint, hint.)

dont know if it is due to the fact im using Firefox, but apart from one link http://www.egosoft.com/games/x_rebirth/ ... Mining.jpg

all the other screenshots are in thumbnail format, and actually have _th.jpg at the end of them, and they wont show full screen large images.

Edit

Rather than add another post, I've figured out it's something to do with the way iv've got my browser configured, add-ons most likely) I installed and used Opera, and managed to get the pictures fine.

I'm using Firefox, and they all work for me. In fact, I've saved them all in my current wallpaper folder and have them cycling every few minutes in the background. :)
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

I use firefox and can see the images full size. :gruebel:

I must agree this is long overdue! At last and well done ES! I must also add that Bernd does speak very good English, better than some of the English people I know!

I think I am now back to pre order. :)

Yep, I did an "open in new tab" in FF 6.0.2 while I was reading and viewed the pictures in a proper size :)

Very pleased with the information released by Bernd, I'm actually quite excited about re-birth once again after having some doubts. I will beat myself with a stick this evening as a lesson in having faith! ;)

Cheers,

Scoob.

Wow... All I can say is wow with all these new improvements.

I never fully got into X3 or X3:TC due to many facts, but with almost all of these changes presented here THANKS DEV TEAM!

I'm also very pleased. This isn't a huge amount of information, but it helps a lot and ties together all the bits and pieces that were rattling around in our heads not making all that much sense.

I'm now very happy to wait to see the final product. I only hope my rig can carry it - I can't afford to upgrade at this time!
