Thanks Alan Phipps I will do that. (I have looked down that list before, but I could have Missed, or Forgotten some.

Had a Great day Today...
I went through The Newly Opened Gate, Did some Exploring, and took some local jobs to raise Rep with the Locals...
Took on for about $180 K to Salvage Drop Box Loot...
Just past that search area, there was A Red Nav Beacon. Caught My attention, so I thought I would go see what was there...
WOW, An Asteroid Field with 20 to 30 Lock Boxes in it as near as I can tell...

I also Finished the Rare Engine, and am now looking for Jump Engine Coolant...
I'm a little puzzled. So you did the whole Plot in Omicron Lyrae and Maelstrom in one day? That is quick!

I started my Game as "Open Play", and I wouldn't have a Clue what the Omicron Lyrae Plot is.

I just Took the Mission to Go Beyond the "Newly Opened Gate". I have not finished The Exploring, probably not even Close. I spent most of the day Yesterday Gathering Lock Boxes, and Made Over $40 Million Credits...

None of the First Four Sections that were on my Map for the last several weeks are Completely Explored yet. Exploration in this is Vastly changed from what is was in X-4 Foundations, No Borders in here.

I was assuming that you finished the OL plot, because only afterward you get the mission to build the jump drive. I never did the Open Play. So, your "Newly Opened Gate" is one of those leading to Cold Start, Toride of Home Of Light. That explains the meteorite field with the slew of lockboxes. Yes, there are a few of them.

Edit: Maybe it would have been better (as always in the X games) to begin with the standard start, which gives you help for many basic functions of the game.

Ah Ha...
Perhaps that is why I have so many things I don't see, or understand... I just want to Explore, and find many things, rather than be Locked into DO THIS, Then Do That, type of Play... But then I Flounder a bit when starting out...

Like, I still do not have Access to Regular Ship Building, Small, on Occasion, but not often, and have not yet seen a Large Ship Builder. The area I am in now, I have seen 6 or 8 Ship Yards, and none I have been on have Ship Builders on them... Makes it Real Hard to Start Building any Stations.
I also have not figured out How to Change to Another Ship, as I could do Easily in X-4, and X-3, then there is The Repairing of Ships I am Not Flying, My Squad Members... I did that Once By Chance, but have not been able to Repeat that function...

There are two kinds of shipyards. One for S&M, the other for X&LX. ALL of them have ALWAYS appropriate builders/sellers available. The "Civil" shipyards are S&M, the "Capital" are X&LX.

And no, you can't change your ship. In X:R you will live and die with the Skunk. Repairing of other ships is a task of the ship builders/sellers. Note that it takes a loooong time for large ships to dock. But you will get a harsh note, as soon as they're finished.

PS: Look here. Shipyards are yellow.

Some seriously Extreme differences between this and X-4, and X-3...

I did get some Up-Grades on my Weps, and now I need to find for Shield, and Engine, ad other parts...

Ok, I took a Mission to CRAFT something Made of Space Fly Eggs, and or Space Flies, but it does not show that on my CRAFT List. I have over 450 Flies, and Over 4,500 Eggs, but no Guidance for what to do to Craft the item I need.
I was thinking I need some sort of Specialist, in Biology or something like that, but not sure, and I have not seen one of those anyway.

Any Suggestions??

Thanks for the Link to the Map.

Yeah, I had the same problem You need "GENUINE" space fly eggs, not the normal ones. They are allegedly dropped when destroying Nividium asteroids with a mining laser.

I think I had exactly one of them. Other players reported many of them.

Fortunately, you only need them to get the Mk3 particle repeater. I have no idea if that is such an overkill weapon.

Thanks for the Info RainerPrem. I do get one now and then through Combat I think... I now have 3 in my Hold. I could have gotten them while flying Past a Mining Operation area I suppose???

The Collision Prevention needs some work...
Today, I Bumped into an XENON ship, that I was fighting, that was just a bit bigger than my Skunk, and I wound up Inside it...
As has been previously posted, Yes, I could kill it from the inside, but then I could not get out of it... I guess it is not Large enough to have a hole big enough to Exit Through??

Then, I passed back through the system where a Base of mine is, as I was headed elsewhere, but there was a swarm of RED Ships around it, so I stopped to clear them out on my way...
I killed all that I could SEE, but my Mini Map showed me there was one more still in the area... I Flew around for a couple of minuets, thinking it might be Behind The base, on the Opposite side from me...
Nope, I finally realized it was INSIDE of one of the Modules of the Station. I Could see Light Flashes from its Weapons Fire, but I could not see it, nor could I shoot it through the station wall.

I guess when the Pilot gets Old Enough To DIE, he will stop his shooting, and the scene will quiet down some...

I know this is Computer Code, which does not exist in solid form, but it would be nice if Solid Objects would Not Pass Through each other.....

On the trapped attacking ship issue, going well away from that zone/sector and then returning later often sees the ship escape (and usually get itself killed) while you are away.

Ah, thanks. Another one I did not know..

I just made the Test Jump Drive, and am Supposed to JUMP TO GATE... I looked down the Settings list, and don't see the Jump Drive Activation on it.
How do I activate the Jump Drive?? I did also look at the T and Y options, but don't see it there either.

If you have an active jumpdrive on the Skunk (shown as Jump Drive 'OK' in the Skunk's ship info screen) that is charged and ready, then when you click on a jump gate or beacon in a Zone map you should have an available button at the bottom right of the map screen called 'Jump'.

Another Observation...
I Found a Source for Space Fly Eggs... An XENON Asteroid that has been Weaponized.
It appears Yellow on the Radar Ping, Has 3 Turrets or so, and after you shoot it, The Space Fly Egg is a Drop from it. (Can't say if that is always the case, but one or two for me has been...)
Then you can Shoot the Little Pieces, and get a few units of Scrap Metal...

But, The Yellow Ping STAYS, from the Radar Ping, even after the Asteroid has been Destroyed, and by the way, You Can NOT Fly Through The Empty Space the Asteroid once Took Up... You Bounce off of it like a Baseball off of a Bat...

Weird...

The Xenon weaponised asteroids will eventually rebuild/repair in place even after complete destruction - rather like some other hostile-to-player faction stations. That is why they persist.

BTW, I assume you talking about the regular spacefly eggs that will drop from them rather than the authentic ones needed for the special missions. I recovered some jumpdrive coolant from those weapon platforms though, and that can be handy.

Interesting information. That those platforms drop something after destruction is new for me. I always saw them only as targeting practice.

I speak of the "Weaponized Asteroids", not the Weapons Platforms, those are two different things, and I do mean the "Authentic Eggs" that are needed for that one Mission. (I have 3 of those right now) The two or three of those asteroids I found had 3 Turrets on each. (I know the Weapons Platforms do Rebuild, Not sure about the Asteroids though. Have not been back there recently) The Asteroids showed up as a Loud Yellow Ping...

Over the last few days, I saw another issue that caught my attention.
Some of the Lock Boxes Ping Back with a White Ring instead of the Normal Blue, Green, and Yellow.. It makes Identifying those rather difficult...
I would guess the Percentage of that runs about 1 tp 3 out of 100 or so. But, I found one of those today that held 3 of the Rare Engine Parts in it, so, as I would see it, they are worth digging out... If I see a White Ping, off by itself, I go and check it out... Might be a Box or Ship.

I also went today into a remote Red area, and Marked that space with a Way Point, That Fly To thing on the Map, and went out 200 km from there to look for goodies, and found one Box with a Kha-ak?? Item in it, that was 137 km from my map marker... People who don't go out and Explore will never find those.

You are right, The Weapons Platforms do not Drop Rare Items, and they are all over. So far, I have only run into 3 of the Weaponized Asteroids in different Locations.
The Weps Platforms do have Drops, but it is The Common Items...

The Percentage of White Pings for Lock Boxes may be Higher than I first Thought...

The last few days, I took several missions to Look For Treasure, and the first one, I had the First THREE Boxes had a White Ping... The Fourth one on That Mission had Two Pings Blue, then the Rest were White.
The Next Three Missions, The First, and Only Box, Rang Back White on each Mission. I found others in those areas that Rang Blue , Green, or Yellow, but they were not Part of the Mission Loot.
Yesterday, I Gave Up in an Asteroid Field where everything , Hundreds of Pings, were Only White... I have no Clue if That Treasure was a Ship, or a Box...
