Few questions - NPC, stations etc.

First time playing x rebirth with HoL. I watched a lot of LP on youtube videos, so I know how to do certain things. I am still in the beginning, but already 30mil on account and I just captured 2 Rahanas. But thing I dont understand ...
NPC:
1. For what is my Pilot for my Albion Skunk? I pilot the ship so she is just standing there looking pretty?
2. Engineer for my Albion Skunk? His only job is to repair damaged parts of my ships but not my hull? Or its because I dont have Construction URV on my ship? Because I cant buy it for myself [for albion skunk] ... only for other ships.
Stations:
3. If I understand correctly - first buy Construction Vessel, than at least captain [for moving ships to location] and architect [actual building] as necesity located on CV. Question is .. what happen with captain and architect when station is build - because if understand correctly .. CV is gone - 1 time use only. Do they return to my ship? ... i hope so ... all 5 stars staff. Or do they move to new station - including captain [because he has no rule there]. Also what happen with captain when I capture a ship and decide to sell it?
4. building station as missions. If I understand correctly - I recieve millions and station will still be mine. My question is ... how "intelligent" are those missions? Building something and later discover no1 is in need of my products or are they fairly reasonable because there is really need for a certain product.

Thanx for answers.

Hi,

1) If you refer to the girl. She's only eyecandy. A pilot you hired can be transfered to a small ship you find in space.

2) The engineer ( the same with captain and defense officer ) is kept on the Skunk in case you buy or board a large ship. In that case you transfer them and then get you new ones.

3) If you buy a CV, you get a (mostly bad) captain. You can keep him/her, because they are only doing one trip. If you try to sail from e.g. HoL to deVries, it makes sense to get a better captain on board. The CV is not "gone"; it stays part of the built station. Its engineer is responsible for station repairs.

Hint: Check the Comm Net for the best availabe personnel.

4) The mission stations are selected at random from the set of available stations in the sector. So they are not completely useless.

Trick:

You can accumulate as many missions as you like. All for the same station get paid in parallel. Note that in deVries there are only three different stations available, so with your first station you can earn a LOT of creditsss.

1. - yes I just claimed my first fighter [pilot bailed] so I found out .... still she was all 5 stars so I changed her and sold the ship ... fighters falls like flies and too expensive - I just keep her on board for fast claiming or maybe some M class fighter? .. Golem looks nice, but still dont know if its worth on money [ship and pilot - probably not cheap] or drones are the way to go?
3. - OK ... so CV are not gone but turned into new station I build ... so staff there [including architect, defense officer, captain and engineer ... if the were on CV] are transfered to a new station ... good to know. I wanted to test it ... but i heard that process of building new station is longer so I was postponing a station building. Also I was looking at the map [at roguey site] and I noticed there are only [or as far as I looked] 2 building slots per zone - that means only 2 my stations can be build per zone?

For 2, I'm 90% sure that keeping an engineer on your ship helps repair your ship while in space. I believe they can't repair hull all the way.

Repairing is so cheap that keeping an engineer on the Skunk and thus blocking one of the few passenger slots isn't really reaonable.

The number of building places per zone varyies. In zones with less NPC stations there are more slots. But they are not always easy to spot. Space has more than two dimensions. So try to look up and down.
