Brzhk wrote:The station buys in bulk. It wont buy your rations because it wants ALL of it in ONE trade. So, basically, you can't provide enough. The description must actually say "you don't have enough of it to satisfy the offer".
The text in the screenshot 1 above says the ship does not contain any food rations to sell to the open order. unless its a bad translation i don't think this is the answer.

I was stuck here for ages here's how i got it fixed.

1: Make sure you and your freighter are in the same sector as the station you want to trade with.

2: On the trade menu make sure you expand the food rations section, and make sure you pick the correct station with which you want to trade.

3: Confirm the amount and start the trade.

If your ship still refuses to budge remove it from squad then re add it to squad and try again.

Freighter not unloading

Post by Zhevron » Mon, 18. Nov 13, 10:37

This has probably been asked a million times already, but hopefully you'll bear with me for this one too.

So I managed to get 300 Food Rations loaded onto the construction ship and I managed to get it to DeVries. However, when it moves up to unload the rations, nothing actually happens. I get the voice message saying "preparing to unload wares" and then it just sits there for eternity.

I've tried nearly everything I've found about these problems. I've manually added Cargolifter URVs to the ship, cancelled and reissued the trade order (which causes the ship to move out and back up again with the same result), done both of those and left the sector, you name it.

So my question is more or less; is there any hope for that savegame or am I simply better off restarting everything again? Editing the savegame XML might have done more damage than it ever helped...

Can't complete food shortage missions - not related to too many trips bug

Post by jimmybobkins » Mon, 18. Nov 13, 11:46

So I progressed in the campaign to the point where you have to buy drones, and decided it would be a good time to go out and do some trading to make money...

I got my trader loaded up with rations, and then was lucky enough to encounter a few food shortage missions. I was eventually able to sell the station the requested amount, and made a small profit, but the mission did not complete, I did not get the reward, and it did not clear from my mission manager.

I got 2 copies of this mission for the same station from different sources, neither completed, and the station stopped buying food. I came back later, and they were buying again, sold to them again, and still neither mission completed.

I picked up two more copies of this mission for two other stations, and ran into the same issue with at least one of them as well (haven't tried the 4th as of yet)

I am sucessfully selling the wares at the with the requested quantity.

Also, I noticed while doing this one of the stations had 2 entries for buying food at different prices, for the same station...

Do the multiple missions affect this? Has anyone been able to complete this random mission anywhere? Do the multiple purchase offers for the same ware affect this? Any ideas on how to complete these missions?

It could be your ship is in queue to pick up the shipment, it can take a while. For the mission with the 100 energy cubes it took my ship 20 before picking them up.

You can tell whether your ship is just taking a long time or genuinely bugged by looking at its info. If it's using some of its cargo drones, then it's just taking a long time. Unfortunately selling the rations does seem to be particularly buggy with no drones in use and none of the usual work arounds (leave sector/kick rejoin squad/issue another trade command at same station) working.

300 Food Rations delivery issue - contains spoilers

Post by lplates » Mon, 18. Nov 13, 18:13

So I've got as far as the "Deliver 300 Food Rations to Crystal Castle" mission 3 times. Each time a different bug has impeded my progress and left me unable to proceed.

The first two times all of my ships disappeared and were never returned, even the one gifted by RoC.

So this time I decided to leave the Gigurum docked where it was just to make sure it wasn't getting destroyed (as there is no way to know if it has).
Now I've set it to my squad and escorted it to Crystal Castle to buy food.
After an unspeakable amount of time travelling through empty space (not sure why it didn't use the highway as it doesn't have jump or boost).

After watching it smash into the factory for 5 minutes I watched it disappear inside, straight through a wall, and I have not see it since. Nor has it bought any food as it is still listed as having 1 trade run in its queue.

Help! i cannot get past this mission and I am not starting over for a fourth time....

EDIT:ok so after nearly 30mins the gigurum finally said it has "sealed the deal" and exited the dock with the good. I then sent it to the wrong factory....knorb!

I sent it back to buy more and despite sitting right next to it I watched it drive off in the wrong direction, not use a highway and proceed in to the black. Lukily I saved it just before giving it the original buy command so I reloaded.

It once again docked and bought the goods and now I have gone to Energetics and manually selected the mission waypoint to sell the goods. The gigurum is on its way.....!

Edit 2:
FFS! I followed the Gigurum all the way round a lap of the energetics station after it exited the yellow highway nearby. Then it turned in and started making its way through the super structure. The it just turned into the side of it and began ramming it. I left it sticking halfway out of the structure before I decided to leave the system.

10 mins later. SUCCESS!!!! Mission complete!!!!!

Stuck on deliver 300 food plot mission. Trading is broken.

Post by dr0pkick » Tue, 19. Nov 13, 16:07

All trading and capital ship management seems completely broken.

Finished the boarding mission. After that mission, I owned 3 ships. Followed the quest markers. After arriving at the quest destination, it tells me to deliver 300 food to this zone. Then:
  • * Find a place to buy it in the trade menu, order my construction ship to pick it up
    * construction ship tells me not enough fuel, I'm like "wtf you need fuel?!"
    * After googling, I learn I need to click on the pilot portrait after they tell me this.
    * I do this, then I tell them to buy fuel. They must've bought fuel, because they then jump to random zone and tell me they need fuel again.
    * reload game, I then personally travel to the zone where they need to pickup food, then remove and readd to squad, repeat the "buy fuel" steps.
    * They show up in the right zone but proceed to do nothing while I leave the computer running for 1 hour. When I return, it still has 1 planned trip in the trade menu with no cargo while sitting in the correct zone with enough fuel.
After all this, I check on my other 2 capital ships. 1 is gone. Which I presumed means it was silently destroyed somewhere in the depths of outer space. For the other one, I remove from squad and re-add. It then tells me it has no fuel. Easy, I tell it to buy some. It then proceeds to the closest station, which happens to be hostile, and gets killed!

I can't play this game in this state. It's not only impossible for me to continue the plot, it's no fun. Please fix these issues.

I'm sure you've read this already, but just in case, you don't need the fuel. Ignore the message and the ship will catch up to you eventually.

As for the rest of that mission, good luck. I haven't got it to work in about 24 hours of trying.

I've got the exact same problem on this mission.

I bought a Scaldis freighter with cargo lifter drones, I can happily buy and sell all sorts of goods, including food to and from OTHER stations.

However, as soon as I try to sell to this facking mission 'port' in Fervid Corona, the ship just flies into dock, says it's transferring wares, then flies out again. And 10 minutes later it has maneuvered back and doing it all over again... forever.

Please Egosoft can you prioritise fixing this ridiculous trading issue? It seems to be something only to do with a select few 'ports' on some stations, whether NPC ships are getting in the way (there is always a line of the civ ships flying right above/below this particular port) or if it's something else, I don't know, but it has actually stopped me playing now along with many others from the looks of a quick forum search.

None of the 'fixes' mentioned by others have worked for me, I think this whole trading business is just broken beyond belief and needs some serious attention.

Thanks.

Ships stuck in Albion galaxy?

Post by voidmind » Sun, 24. Nov 13, 21:26

After I got the other ships, my construction ship was stuck in the Albion galaxy and telling it to refuel would make the ship go to a station that was controlled by the now hostile Plutarch Mining Corporation (PMC). I was able to resolve the "fueling can only be done at an enemy station" issue by editing the save file in 2 places.

1- Search for <faction id="player">
2- A few lines below, find the line <booster faction="plutarch" relation="-0.138144" time="45103.3"/>
Now note the number for the time attribute. Yours will have a different number, but it doesn't matter. There are exactly 2 line with that time stamp in the file. The line above is for your attitude towards PMC, so change relation="-0.138144" to relation="0.5"
3- Now search for the second place in the file where that time stamp is by searching for 45103.3 (or whatever that number is in your file). The second line should look like this:
<booster faction="player" relation="-0.138144" time="45103.3"/>
This line represent the PMC faction's attitude towards the player. Here too, you need to change relation="-0.138144" to relation="0.5".

Save it, load the save file in the game, and the PMC ships and stations will appear blue, so your ship will be able to refuel without getting shot. I strongly advise you restore the relation="0.5" to the negative number it was at once you have successfully brought your ships to the DeVries galaxy because messing with the faction allegiance might screw up future missions where it is expected that PMC is hostile to you.

Don't use construction ships for trading, it won't work!

This is how I completed the mission:

1) I sold every other ship except 'ship construction ship' which I left drifting on Darned Hot Air

2) I purchased Rahanas (container) in Darned Hot Air (with 50 Cargolifter urv drones installed)

3) I flew my new Rahanas to Gushing Spring to buy 300 food rations

4) I flew the Rahanas to Fervid corona and sold 300 food rations

I've done the same thing previously but I didn't change the "booster" lines as I expected that these were temporary values. I changed the main lines within the two code blocks you have identified instead and this worked fine for me.

Also you can "properly" repair your relationship with plutarch by taking fight mission from friendly stations and pulling the enemy over to a plutarch station to kill it. Granted this is a very slow approach but its a legitimate one. If this is possible then I don't see why faction standing should affect the latter missions.

Lucky you. Did same thing 4 times already (bought ship, equipped) and no luck - no drones possible to buy or upgrade. I spend hours flying around galaxy in search of cargolift drones with same result. Even started cheating by editing saved game. Nothing. Cargoship just fly like a retard, sending messages that he will buy stuff, fly to Gushing Spring, and leave that very sector in ~3 minutes after arrival without even attempting to buy.

Right now the only route which is open to me is [temporary] editing relations with PMC and try to obtain required drones/commodities in Plutarch space.

If your Relations with Plutarch is -30 then it's next to impossible, I've taken out over 100 fighters, 1 Arawn, 4 Balors, and around 50 drones and only managed to reduce it to -29.
Either the relations are broken or the expectations for repairing your rep is way too high and needs tweaking by Egosoft.

Although once and I have no idea how I accomplished this but I used a Trojan ROV and hacked a Plutarch Station, reduced my Rep from -30 to -20, but it returned to -30 so it might have been temporary?
