I found a workaround for the centre console not working [Q&A CPP-3]

When I continue my saved game and am in my ship i can press enter to get to menu but when i click on ship info or trade or anything that makes me turn to a secondary menu there is nothing there I just see my copilot instead of the popup screen that was there at start of game.

I am getting the same thing you see the menu infront of you but soon as you try to go to look at the menu between you and the co-pilot they are simply not poppying you need to fix this NOW first thing because it makes the game UNPLAYABLE FIX IT NOW!!!!! Priority ONE!!!!

Had the same problem. Just that it happened during game play not when I loaded my save.

Somehow this remedied the situation both times:

Selecting in "crew" in the menu, so that the character goes to the back of the ship.
Then talking to the engineer about the ship status then talking to the defense officer about his skills.

I don't think that it's important who you talk to, it's just that both time i happened to do the same thing. I assume that either the skill window or the status window did the trick.

from what i've been reading in other threads, its caused by not entering the chair properly, so apparently if that happens you cant access any of the menus, however, i believe if you are in the situation where you have saved unable to access menus, if you use the command to beam bank to Skunk ENTER >5 >5 that can apparently sort it so the menus start working again. however I havent hit this yet so can't say for definate.

No guarantee this will work, but try Enter > 5 > 5

That should beam you back into the Skunks coclpit, as apparently theres a bug occasionally when you enter that you dont sit correctly ( or so i gather) and that makes menus disappear, however I'm pretty sure it was also mentioned in that thread beaming back to Skunk *can* solve it. I've never been in that situation, so i don't know for definate.

As the person above said, I found this to happen every time I returned to the bridge and noticed the chair not turning. Also, the co-pilot didn't move either, and the window/interface between me and her would not rise up, so it looks like whatever is supposed to have the bridge animate/move breaks, for me on a pretty regular basis. Resetting it can be done by going back to a station and dock, and then re-enter the bridge of your ship. (And hope the bug didn't re-appear, it seems like happening randomly, at least 1/5 times I returned to the bridge.
The Q&A / beta testers must be laughing all the way to the back, because they sure didn't do the job they were paid to do.

I have a glitch where you clip through your seat as you try to sit in it. Also when wanting to use the menu to your right it does not appear. I think the version number is 1.12.

thats not a fix, it just reloads the animation and works properly the second time. It's not game breaking but it does get annoying, I've seen it 3 or 4 times. The map disappearing is more annoying.

Happened to me a few times as well. I didn't know about 5-5. I just hang with the "crew" and re-enter and it is usually fixed.
