HELP ! Invulnerable ships !!

hi , and before i get hated on, yes i know invulnerable ships in the storyline are supposed to be that way...

HOWEVER, and despite it being the first time i've reached this point in the story , i was acctually prepared for this large of a scale of war... knowing the X series like i do and being the tactically minded person i am, i foresaw (SPOILER WARNING) that the pirates would be allied with plutarch and the likely huge amount of resistance was expected... so before i allowed the story to progess i built up my own Supply chain and acctually have multiple of my own shipyards (modded in) and have roughly 6 or 8 capital size battle ships most are only large but i do have probably 2 XL's , point being i have the firepower to completly R@pe the forces gathered ... however when i get the enemy ships down to about 25% of there hull they stop taking damage, AND THIS IS A HUGE DESTROYER OF THE GAME FOR ME I >>"CANNOT"<<< continue playing the storyline knowing that not only is it un-adaptable but so rigorously so that i can't even blow up the enemy ships.... ******

So Does anyone know of a mod that will remove the unvulnerable status or can someone make one? i don't care if the storyline remains unchanged, i just need the stuff to go boom so i can at least be rewarded for my efforts by seeing that, and by not having my trade lines interrupted.

Beside saveediting i dont know how. Scan the ship, get the name of the captain, search it in the save game and remove he entry of the whole ship, hope it doesnt blow your game up if the ship is a critical part of another mission.

Good tutorial on fiding assets in the stickies.

I know the problem and wasn't happy about it, in particular this hostile station at the entrance of Devries. Even "long" after the associated mission was over, it stayed hostile and invulerable, distracting my patrol ship which kept attacking it.

Editing the saved game certainly is an option but I do not recommend it because it is tricky. For each object there are potentially various references spread all over in the saved game. Not easy to remove them all.

Another suggestion could be to change the faction to neutral instead of removing it fro the savegame, avoid most problem related to null reference while making the statio neutral, it is another savegame edit so might be tricky to some user.

We need a modder fix.... Can we get a modder Fix? Please and thank you anyone...

:rant: I'd really like to resume my story-line , but at this point i just can't convince myself to load that save, I've taken to playing just a sandbox game and frankly im getting a little bored, my normal play style was to play the sandbox until i got bored and then run a few story-line missions and than go back to sandbox play style as in i'd still be on the story-line save but playing as though i wasn't. this led to a lot of economical and military build up.. :rant:

I am interested.

Which part of the plot were you playing when that indestructible ship problem occurred? As far as I know, there are at least two points in the plot where you have to fight against the PMC/NPC in DeVries:

It was the battle for the gates, it places a station on the canteren side which i haven't attempted to blow up yet, it was on my to do list, but i can probably leave it alone if its story relevant as i suspect due to it literally popping up instantly and being a new station type.

Then on the Alb side there are multiple [L] capital ships that you can destroy all the equipment on and wreck them until 25% of there hull so they are just floating there, but then you cant destroy.

ah yes, regarding the mining operation ships, they warp out before you stand a chance of destroying them, so its not a big deal. I actually did try i even had 2 cap ships sitting where i knew it was going to show up, (i had to repeat that part) but because they leave so fast there is no reason to worry about them, you would need an insane amount of firepower sitting at the exact spot the enemy ship warps into and firing the moment it shows up to stand any chance of destroying it.

Not expecting any mods to be done or anything i know how long it can take, just wondering if you've figured out how to make the changes yet? maybe to know if any progress has been made?
