What is the best and complete way to swap Teladi and Split NPC's to human NPC's

Hello,
I would like to replace the Teladi and Split character 3d models everywhere (on platforms, in stations, on ships etc...) with Argon / Terran characters. There are different ways to do this, but how would this be done efficiently and with a minimum of files changed.
I would like to turn the Teladi and the Split into another human faction with new names as well, So populating Teladi stations and ships with human npc's.
Does someone have an idea on how to do this?
