Re: A Bit of Gameplay for Your Viewing Pleasure
I'm way more into it if it's just for unlocking blueprints and/or encyclopedia entries, and maybe the odd mission objective here and there. Especially seeing that they've done away with the teeny-tiny infopoints you have to scan. ^^

It not like you even need to scan stations at all in X:rebirth. I'm literally deliberately NOT scanning stations in my current playthrough and I am missing nothing. No part of the game is locked off from me or anything.
Re: A Bit of Gameplay for Your Viewing Pleasure
People seem to be confusing scanning station modules with picking up trade offers. These are two different gameplay systems, and conflating them is only going to lead to more confusion and bad expectations.

And before anyone whines about having to play the conversation minigame, Egosoft beat you to it, since you can simply just save a station from pirates and click the monitor when they thank you (and the monitors edge flashes) and it opens a dialogue tree were you can ask them for credits, or a trade agent...
Re: A Bit of Gameplay for Your Viewing Pleasure
You can also get them as quest rewards sometimes. I did one quests where I was rewarded with trade agents on 3 or 4 stations.atavistuk wrote: ↑Fri, 19. Also, you don't even need to wait for pirates or Xenon, I've been rewarded trade agents just for killing the "enemy" ships that are in the mass traffic.
Re: A Bit of Gameplay for Your Viewing Pleasure
Huh! I've honestly always totally ignored mass traffic 'enemies'. Nice tip! Thanks! (I've also never seen Trade Agents offered as a Mission Reward before. It's always been cash or Weapon Mods...)
Edit to bring this back to X4: I wonder if Station Module Blueprints would be a Mission Reward, for those unwilling to scan stations for them?

Yeah... but only for scanning missions j/k. But it might be nice to see them for sale... either do the "leg work" yourself to scan them, or just pay the premium and get them.
