[SUGGESTIONS] Sound design issues list

Post by Riccardoman » Sun, 2. Dec 18, 10:55

I'm 20 hours so far in to the game, and I started having big concerns about different sound design aspects :

- the engine and thrusters sound starts abruptly and are extremely loud, they have no occlusion whatsoever, it's like they are constantly near my ears instead of being out of the ship

-The engine sounds of other ships near a station are as loud as the ship I'm in, however I'm inside or outside the ship walking on a dock

-The repair beam on the suit sounds extremely loud and without any occlusion, feels like raving after an hangover

-The alert/combat music when triggers NEVER stops, even when there's no enemies around, the only solution is to move far far away from the combat zone

-The alert/combat music plays when I'm firing against a "wanted" civilian near a station, I find that interrupting the sector music just for one harmless tiny civilian hostile ship is pretty useless and over time annoying

Hope that those issues will be addressed soon

Otherwise fantastic game egosoft!

Any of this being improved upon in 3.0? I got some M class ships escorting me and I'm about to ditch the game again due to the loud engine sounds.

The volume for the person speaking in the game starts is too low, compared to the music. I can barely hear what they are saying because the music is drowning them out. It's a minor issue, but it creates a poor impression for people starting a new game.
