Set destination out of ecliptic

Hi !
Can I set a course to a destination out of the ecliptic on the map ?
My exploreres somtimes find stations but don't discover them correctly and mark them with '?' on the map.
I want to send them there but it seems to be impossible to set a course on the '?' or set a point on the ecliptic and then change the height like in homeworld.
