[Feature req.] New type of missions, "events"

I know devs have said they are working on missions and will add more with updates and DLCs, I have an idea that I think would make fun missions.
One thing that is lacking today in X4 is a purpose. A story would give purpose, but I know we will not get one now. I think that is for the best, they need to focus on finalizing the core game assets first.
A real story would at this point give problems with bugs, the potential that story entities gets destroyed before playing their part, etc.

Introducing "events", a short "story snippet".
What I mean is a very short 1-3 stage "story" where the outcome doesn't really matter for the big picture. These events could be in the form of missions but with a little more context, e.g. entities could be named, there could be a very short text describing what is going on. If these story entities are left alone they could exist alongside everyone else, if they are destroyed or go missing before the event is completed that will not matter and the event will end by itself.
The entities could be created when the event is accepted or they could just appear by themselves, depending on the character of the event. If someone is complaining that they are not built via the economy we can say they came from a venture gate or whatever, for me it doesn't really matter. These events could be generic with pre-defined "story text", with names drawn from the NPC name pool.
The difference to a "mission" could be that the event can start by itself, and possibly with more backstory.

Typical events could be:
- Xenon/Pirate raids in sectors or against stations (with multiple ships, assisted by friendlies or not)
- Escort missions
- Faction launching an assault (multiple ships) on another faction (hostile or not)
(This could be against a specific station, a capital ship, or group of ships, not necessarily in the adjacent sector)
- The creation of an SCA larger fighter wing that harass traders.
- Random station taken over by rough pirates hostile to everyone, with a small fleet.
- New sub-faction appearing (maybe difficult to implement?)
- Pirates targeting specific resources, creating a shortage.
- etc.

Personally I think most missions today are quite boring, build this, scan that, place those... personally I want combat missions.
