Unofficial Officlal 2.6 "Is it here yet" thread - It's on Public Beta!

Making this because I know I'm checking for it and I figure threads might pop up in the near future.

SUMMARY:
RELEASE DATE FOR 2.6: Between 2019-09-08 and then. Source here. And here.
CONFIRMED FEATURES OF 2.6:
* There will be fixes
* Primary focus is economy
* Some pathing improvements
* Patrols and defending ships should stay in their defined areas now (NOT GUARANTEED FOR INCLUSION)


ALL INFO:
It'll be "shortly after Gamescom", and statements from developers have led people to believe there will be economy and war improvements. Unknown how many will be in 2.6 and how many are in 3.0

If you mean formation retention while moving across multiple sectors, this is actually done. However, it requires more internal testing so i have not recommended that it be included in 2.60.

If you mean patrolling/protecting/defending ships leaving their defined area, yes, the fix for this has been recommended for inclusion to 2.60 but inclusion is not guaranteed. Should be in the changelog if it is.

The announcement at gamescom stated that 2.6 Beta would be released.... so I guess it will prob be another month before we see the release version of 2.6

apparently most of the work done prior to gamescom was on the 3.0 update and not the split dlc. if that were the case I would of thought a 2.7 release would of been just about ready for release.

Let's reduce the uncertainty just a little bit more: 2.60 will not go into beta this week.
A couple of issues came up and we'll need a little more time to work on it (as well as other, unrelated things that compete for dev-time)

Primary focus is on economy fixes (that includes relief for players plagued by sectors with 500+ stations in them) but there are also some pathing / navigation improvements (let's say the autopilot had some flying lessons).
