Anyone tried it out yet and noticed any performance improvements?

Almost everyone bringing it up seems to be noticing major performance improvement in the Beta forum and on reddit, fortunately!

That sounds really promising! Hopefully I'll find some time to try it out during the weekend.

Yeah, seeing a decent increase in performance, but still getting 2 or 3 second stutters down to very low single figure framerates on occasion, particularly around stations. (I'm using onboard sound and disabled graphic driver's sound.)

Is this a thing with a lot of people, or have I got a setting wrong, somewhere?
“Man, my poor head is battered,” Ed said.

“That explains its unusual shape,” Styanar said, grinning openly now. “Although it does little to illuminate just why your jowls are so flaccid or why you have quite so many chins.”

“I…” Had she just called him fat? “I am just a different species, that’s all.”

“Well nature sure does have a sense of humour then,” Styanar said. “Shall we go inside? It’d not be a good idea for me to be spotted by others.”

Yes, I'm seeing this too. Prior to 2.60 beta, I only had stutter (specifically stutter, not low FPS) on stations when ships were entering/leaving the docking force field (accompanied by the sound effect). In 2.60 however, I'm now experiencing random heavy stutters, seemingly anywhere in space, sometimes a few in quick succession, sometimes just a single prolonged freeze (a second or so).

I've been getting that and others have reported it as well.

In mine too, usually when exiting gates, and performance is better
Fixed ships getting spawned away from ship configuration menu at resupply ships from automatically getting deployables.

I have not tried it yet. My game is modded. I reduced my mods to get rid of custom traders and few other things. Just using no encounters, no highways, and a couple of other mods that should not affect things like messages in red etc. Hopefuly no conflicts before mods get updated.

I see in the change log they addressed that thing where NPC ships would get stuck at the exit or entrance of a highway due to traveling along the sides of it. I guess the fix will not get messed up by me no having highways.

I am wondering if the changes to ware values etc will mean my templates for complexes will need to be tweaked. I guess so. The person that made the Station Calculator will probably update the values in time.

I see the log says something about ships less likely to leave their assigned area. I so hope this works because I post fleets at gates to Xenon space to defend and they have a habit of chasing ships in or seeing one come out and chasing it across the universe to another Xenon sector. Either way, my ships would usually die while I was building a station or something. Drove me up the wall more than any other issue with the game.

I prefer less frequent updates like this. I used to use F4SE on my Fallout 4, but then Beth began sending updates out really often for their naff a$$ shop thing, which made for a very annoying routine of updating stuff.

p.s. My install is Steam. No way in Steam to tell without launching the game if Steam has applied the beta update. Have to go to install folder and check properties/details of the .exe and if its version number and date are the new patch. Mine is. Radeon drivers updated, X4 updated, first coffee of the day beginning to kick in. It's X time.

edit. Just loaded my save. Save was 2.50 and version is 2.60, so that's good. I was docked at a trading station after a long session. FPS was getting low. Now it is significantly higher. I sometimes notice FPS at stations improves after restarting the game, but not by this much. 25-30 FPS is now 35-50 FPS (I doubt the new Radeon driver is responsible for that much improvement).

Just noticed one thing different and acting up. When managing ships and using the shift key to select multiple to assign, often only one of the ships gets the order. It seems to be if the list moves due to something changing like a ship docking etc. If the list moved I re-select and all ships seem to get the order. This could be an issue if sending lots of ships to fight and only one actually goes. Will have to keep a close on on it. FPS on the stations is still up half an hour in.

Now off to my platform at the Xenon gate in Holy Vision, because I have heard rumours that station turrets shoot at things more often now. Should be entertaining. ---- I got there and a K came through as I arrived. Station turrets opened up on it really quickly, whereas before they were very slow to respond, or would not fire at all. There was a large build up of of Xenon P, M and N behind that gate when to bed last night. They all poured through the gate after the K. Turrets knocked those P down fast (it's not OP if you spend the credits to build all those platforms and turrets. it's fair enough I say and spectacular). I am still observing to know for sure if they engage fighters and if missile turrets fire. But I just saw something i have not see the game do before. I wonder if that build up of ships were waiting for the K to go thru and the update changed things so capital ships get through gates better (i read something about that in the change log). If defence platforms are working better in this patch I will be very happy, because sealing those gates as best as I can is my game plan in every play thru. Flip side is I guess Xenon stations will have this too :)

More: I am getting war updates that Xenon stations have been destroyed. It means the patch has fixed the non-killable half built station thing. A few hours in an the only ships I have seen chase into Xenon sectors were defence drones. That is a big improvement, because i would have usually lost several escort fighters by now to the bug. Three cheers! :)

So far, the guidance system on autopilot seems to work really well.
Though now it will switch on/off Travel Mode when doing a sharp turn or getting close to an asteroid in order to recalibrate around an object.
Slows journey time down a little bit, but to have an autopilot where it takes objects into account rather than trying to fly through them is a definite improvement to me.
Plus in previous version, the way it travelled through accelerators and gates while in Travel mode seemed unrealistic, I think this has improved greatly at the expense of travel time; worthwhile trade for better pathfinding.

I have noticed too that frame rates dive in certain places, smooth most places, but other places where it shouldn't have difficulty, it will stutter 5-10 frames a second. Sure Egosoft will be able to iron these out as this didn't happen before, so probably bugs brought in by 2.60?

Yeah, seeing regular war updates of Xenon stations being destroyed/built, so it's great news to hear; early days, but I hope to see more improvements to the war mechanic?

Tried it to see if it helped in performance on stations but nope so switched straight back to normal build. They seriously need to fix station gameplay fps issues.

Oh and i noticed a ship of mine on remote control docking at a station to pick me up as didnt want to fly the miner ship, my paranid disc came in sideways through the forcefield and then leveled out just barely at touch down. So something with docking ai flight path orientation needs looking at.

Tamina said: If it is what I think you are talking about, the enormous amount of excess stations that popped up in some players games are removed by the AI in 2.6 over time again. Let the game run for a while in 2.6.
It was a 4 hour new play from 2.50 on paranid side. I was just at a ore station not even a hub. Still tanks at 1440p with a vega 56 card with staring at the wall after u land in a miner ship at 30fps and 23ms lag which is awful. I dunno how its being 99% used the gpu. Lookin up into space gives me the fps and ms back to 60fps 18ms ish which is better tho i want the ms to 16 or under for best gameplay smoothness. But looking at the wall in front, looking down on floor at feet, or any other direction like north south east west, same 30fps and high ms lag response. Something is wrong with stations, there either so heavy poly and texture wise or its got far too many effects and sounds going off or animations theres something thats out of wack dragging gpus down as when ur in space fps and ms is fine its even fine looking at the station from the outside its even fine getting so close to the dock area of the station its once ur past the blue forcefield barrier fps seem to tank ive found.

After installing the beta patch I saw HOP muster a huge fleet of mostly destroyers and a few supply ships. They mostly cleared Faulty Logic and went to the next sector. Xenon was responding and sending fleets to counter them. I followed them thinking they might actually go all the way to the shipyard and kill it. Nope. Every single one of them was taken out by a defence platform and defence drones. I got a bonanza of mod parts etc. I have seen HOP go in there before in force, but they usually just do a quick passive patrol and leave. I have not seen the AI behave like this before. Another thing i am seeing is all the gates to Xenon space are well defended now. The supply boost the factions got seemed to be well used. It allowed me to build my defence platforms at those gates without having to fight K off the construction ship. I am also seeing both ships and stations firing on Xenon a lot more. Long session yesterday in between doing my spinal rehab workouts, so have not played today because all X'd out.

p.s. Another thing I noticed with the patch was my complex managers asking for money. I turn automatic pricing off and set buy to minimum. The patch reset all that, so i had to go thru three complexes and fix it. No big. New stations are also getting managers appointed automatically. They know about that. They said in DevNet that it was a mistake oversight thing.

Trade stations now passively consume nividium. Trade stations are also filled to the brim with ship tech parts. Wharfs are producing ships for me immediately without having to supply them with any resources. Pirates will actually try to kill you now. AI factions are destroying incomplete stations and can actually push their own war fronts now. AI factions will deploy their war fleets to protect their stuff now.

Not yet. They made it purchasable, but not buildable  Should be in in the next beta iteration.

You can find the 8M dock on Argon Trading stations since release. The blueprint was just not purchasable by the player before 2.6.

So making money in the early game is even easier now. Theirs no reason to build production stations, just skip on through to the infinite credit machine called the wharf. Nividium never runs dry and theirs so many hull part factories now that you can make a massive killing just auto trading refined metals around. At least the AI empires can put up a better fight now when you do decide to bring down the hammer.

I'm actually seriously thinking about starting a new game when the DLC comes out. The save Im using Is from the original release version of the game, and space is so full of useless stations now. I've got huge stations in most main sectors and all I do is sit in my ship waiting for stations to build at 10 frames per sec. The game has became stale.
Just... another... bug.
