Its been a fair few weeks since gamescon and we are still waiting for the 2.6. Patch!

does anyone genuinely think that the 3.0 and DLC will be delivered on time?

Me, myself & I picked option one. Of course they'll deliver - they also did so last year. :)

Well hopefully 3.0 and dlc are feature complete by now and now turning and bug fixing is possibly just on the to do list which will take some time to iron out im betting so that will take a month or longer. If they arnt feature locked by now they should be soon like erm near end of oct then they should have time to iron it out by just before xmas. Tho im guessing ego will break up for xmas 2 weeks before the day but they might also have some time off for halloween maybe too.

3.0 will be relatively bug free bc will have beta before, DLC could have bugs with story or/and assets

I'm thinking along the line of thought that version numbers are just that - numbers. Something to mark a set of fixes/features with.

The main goal of 3.0 supposedly should be to set the game ready for the DLC release. Whatever else they manage to fix until then will be also shipped along.

I love how your implication of saying "let's be realistic" attempts to bias the results of the poll in favor of a pessimistic outlook.

Given that all options are pretty much spot on? :)

Quite confident that will be out, but as all software, there will be bugs. So yes out but bugged - "That's Software Development"

option 1 - yes

All software has bugs. It's a case of whether they fix the current critical ones and don't introduce any new ones. I have confidence it'll be fine.

so 3.0 would need releasing next moth so that they can iron bugs first....look how long 2.6 is taking.

I would sooner wait 14 months more than have it rushed out before it's really ready. Not sure Egosoft's bank manager would agree though.

What experience? They are fixing the game nonstop with a small break during the summer and holiday season. Yes, the launch was rough just like any newly developed X game's since Reunion.

And the demo video for the Split Vendetta DLC press clearly showed that some of the new features (such as drone control) are already finished and are either under closed testing or simply withheld until v3.0 hits.
