Is there any way to take over the destroyer without losing all of its equipment?
I have tried the emp bomb and then repairing with my laser..... this doesn't seem to be working. Did this get updated so it no longer works?

I think it's tied to the skill of the marine. I haven't tested this yet. With 3.0 there is a possibility to train them with seminars. Boarding seminars are usually sold at pirate stations if I'm correct otherwise you need to recycle at least 1 marine that went through several boardings and gained enough experience.
