Ships and the wrong game mechanics

Post by abisha1980 » Sat, 4. Apr 20, 20:23

their is in theory nothing wrong with the ships untill you play the game
do to the mechanics of the game you can never play corvette, Frigate or destroy proper.

they to slow to play the game proper you spend a lot of time station hanging which request a lot of agility and it's pointless to undock from your frigate/destroy with a fighter (you just move slower with no befits)

The fix?,
simple allow controllable drones from a Corvette and up to interact with stations *scanning* and trading with trade drones without ever to leave your corvette or bigger ship if you wanna visite a station then use a teleport or ship to move your body.

For corvettes you should try to fly the Nemesis or ZYA Dragon.
For destroyer get a Rattlesnake. Stand on the bridge and have your pilot fly it until you get into a fight. Mod it for agility.

There comes a point where you stop station "hanging" and you wont go near one unless really necessary.

M ships are better for boarding other ships and fighting more or bigger enemies.

Destroyers are obviously for fighting bigger targets.

Most missions prefer smaller ships as they can do all of those things and more, albeit not on the same level.

Once you are in an all out war for example you generally want to avoid being in anything smaller than an M ship as it often means instantaneous death.

I'de love a little scanning drone thats designed specifically for scanning stations, nice and nimble to get around the structure.
X Rebirth had most of this and it should be added to X4, such as trading with people from space (tiny really fast drones leave/dock with your ship as you trade inventory).

I do almost all my flying in the Nemesis Vanguard, which is a great ship, though since 3.0 it is slower (though still nearly 400m/s) and doesn't pack enough punch to take down the shields of a K on its own.

It's not optimal for scanning stations, but that's a tiny part of the game, and one which really isn't worth my time at this point (and honestly it isn't that bad at it). Use the right ship for the right job.
