What is the reason behind the limit of active missions in 3.30B1?

I remember something like that done in Elite: Dangerous, but those missions could be completed simultaneously, multiplying your profit-per-hour, and Frontier had a strict policy on maximal acceptable earnings per hour.
But in X4 most of the missions can't be completed simultaneously, most of the missions don't have a time limit, so why I can't just pick a bunch of missions while just passing by and complete them later, when I'm in the mood?

If some missions need to be converted to 'do it now, don't stall' mode, there already is a mechanic for that - the time limit.
Time limit on the mission is natural, but limit to the number of accepted missions is not.
