Controller - General and Linux Question

Hi out there in the Galaxy,

I have two Questions:
- Do you enjoy the "Fight" and "Flying around" part more with a Controller (not a stick or HOTAS)?

And for the Linux-Users with Controller:
- Which controller is nice to use and easy to set up on Linux (in my case openSUSE TW, but i think should not make a huge difference...)
