I would if it was done in a neat way, bring back OTAS or a similar mega corp that had their own line of ships, i cant remember my x3, tc and ap lore, i believe OTAS had really nice ships, that cluster of systems around legends home could be a neat expansion, they were super high tech and could have survived the gate crash . Bring back the Aldrin system. An expansion pack of well optimized ships would be fantastic. Also i miss the Hyperion Vanguard , that was my personal ship.

Micro-transactions are almost never worth the price. They often don't cost much, but you get almost nothing.

If we are talking new ships that plug obvious gaps in what should exist, they should be free (and I'm sure ES would provide them free).

If we are talking new ships of stats, quantity and quality that they would be DLC-worthy (like M0 ships, or expanded Kha'ak) then ES might as well create full DLCs (big or small) around them with stories, quest chains and new game mechanics to support them. And I'd pay for that.

If Egosoft has not the capacity to hire staff for (re)designing ships, may it be possible to involve the community in some way? For example make a contest, concept art collection thread or involve modders who already make beautiful ships on their own etc.

I would love to see more ships classes into each faction and new entire faction based content:

-Battleships for all factions
-Missile L ships
-Pocket L carriers
-Cruisers L ships
-XL freighters

-pirate ships & factions
-corporation ships & factions
-Borons
-More khak and Xenon ships

-Improvement to teladi/argon designs

Willing to further support Egosoft while them make high quality level DLCs/ Expansions

I don't like the thing of paying for cosmetic content. But I would accept something like a Kickstarter, which can be fulfilled to realize aspired goals. But I also have little idea how much it costs. Also have it is difficult to deal with such a way reasonably.
