Takeover of sector Scale Plate Green VII
Me and the Teladi had a slight disagreement on the topic of who should own sector Scale Plate Green VII.

Re: Takeover of sector Scale Plate Green VII
You only had to destroy the admin module of the station(s) to take over the sector. The rep loss for that would be much less than destroying the whole station. When they rebuild it would become contested, but by that stage you would already own the sector so do not need to care about it anymore.
Part of me is disappointed you did not use an Asguard to slice the station in half Zapp Brannigan style. On the other hand, nice to see someone using a carrier and S ships like they were intended.

I know that destroying the admin module would had been suficient to take ownership of the sector. However the station would have remain hostile and I said...what the heck..let's go all the wayImperial Good wrote: ↑Tue, 20. On the subject of rep loss...was already at 30 rep with them..after the atack my rep was 29..so no biggie. From my experience, if you have high rep with a faction, destroying their defence stations don't dent so much in reputation values.
Now, if you destroy a trade station...that's when all hell break loose With those, you get from 20+ to -10 rather quick
They did not rebuilt the station, maybe because the sector was never theirs to begin with (was still xenon and with 2 factions having build admin stations in the sector would have remain xenon even if no xenon stations were present).
As for using the Asgard (or a terran fleet for that matter)....I tend to avoid using my terran fleet (which is a real shame), because of the poor handling the Tokyo has with fighters (made a topic on that subject and a fun little clip )
Ideed, I wanted to show proper use of a carrier (or a fleet for that matter). Carriers were never meant to be stuffed with plasma turrets and send to blast stations at closed range...and when they get blown up..to get salty players going...buuu...this ship sucks
Carriers have fighters on intercept to deal with drones/fighters (not to be sent in kamikaze atacks agains stations), their turrets loadup is design for AA defence (like real life carriers). Destroyers serv in their intended role, as mobile artilery, and frigates as torpedo boats for dmg dealing.
Also, I have asign my M ships to the auxillary ship because if I had asign them to the carrier they would have try to land on it. Them going by themselves to the auxiliary ship to get repair after the battle, was a nice touch.

Unrelated, but about Tokyo and fighters:
There was a Tokyo to board. I had shot engine and turrets. Escort fighters ... NPC handling of them is worse than in your fleet.
All ready, but I did not want to wait the 100% cut. So I ordered 30 Balaur's with Thermals to nibble the hull to 80%.
The problem was that they were reluctant to shoot. Eventually they got the job done, but there sure was a lot of merry go around.
Is it the good old collision box issue? The shape of Tokyo?
PS. Do you have a Teladi fleet too? With Ásgarðr and Ulysses things are so trivial. Real Pilots do it with anything.

No, i dont have a Teladi fleet...mushroom fleet would be too much for me Actually I dont think I ever had a Teladi capital Hmm, this remind me, I should land on one to see if the interiors are any diferent that the rest of the races
Re: Takeover of sector Scale Plate Green VII
I can safely inform you that, sadly, the pilot console of a Teladi capital is nothing similar to an ATM machine (it should be imho)
