Version 1.20 [Bug] Keyboard stops working

Version 1.20

Bug: Keyboard dies and you can't save, move ship or do anything. Requires a Task Manager shut down to restart X4.

Hello,
this happens to me 3 times too - during combats only. I think that my ship is damaged by enemies but then I disscover that I can fire with middle mouse without problems.
WSAD, space, Tab and Shift+1 do not works (probasbly other keys too). Mouse works fine, Esc too.

It makes battle very hard I hope they will fix it soon.

Esc doesn't work either for me, Keyboard commands are completely dead.
Mouse does work though.

Still happening in 1.32

Random keys stop working (say scroll for speed, or tab for boost, space for fire). Alternates sometimes work, but requires a re-load, or restart of the game to fix.

Still happening in 1.5, except that is isn't random keys, it's scroll for speed, or tab for boost, space for fire. Usually in mid-combat, when I'm using all of those keys.

There is a bug with X4 & the GoG overlay that can cause this kind of behavior if you unintentionally hit shift-tab (which attempts, but kinda mostly fails, to bring up the GoG Galaxy overlay). You can easily test if this is your problem next time it happens: When the keyboard stops responding, go ahead and hit shift+tab and see if that fixes anything. If this IS your problem, you can avoid it entirely by disabling the Galaxy overlay in the options for X4 in your GoG library.

I use Steam, not GoG, so I think we can rule that out.

If it's any use - I'm still having this bug in v2.50

I can't find any way around it. It's pretty much unplayable. If I start a new game it all work, but as soon as I save and open the save file - no keyboard.

That's not normal behaviour, and not something that other players have reported in any recent version. To have any chance of helping, however, you we're going to need a lot more information. Rather than tack your information on to a thread about an extremely outdated version, please start a new thread and provide the information requested at the top of the forum. Of particular interest in this case will be whether or not your game is modified, and what kind of input devices (including the type of keyboard, and whether it is wired or wireless) you have.
