[2.21] Bypassing station location limitations

It is possible to place a 100-cannon defence station in front of a gateway using a workaround:

1. Reset plot size to minimum
2. Move plot alocation indicator as close to gateway as possible.
3. Increase size to values that would normally offend the "safety margin"

Actually I don't understand this limit - if I were a race who were getting flooded by an enemy through a single point, I'd do whatever I can to protect that point - mine it, build def stations, etc.

many station build mission ar not possible whitout this trick

Is there a technical issue that you want fixed here? If so, we need some information and reproduction steps please.

wen you buy a place for build a station you have two zone, the first smaller and darker where you build and the second around it clearer, the "location limitations" zone.
the size of this second one is not fixe is like 1or 2 (KM ?) more than the build zone.

so when you reduce the size of the zone you want build you can place the station closer, and after, extand for by-passe the "location limitation" security, it's who peoaple do portail défence station for exemple.

my probleme is actualy build station mission are frequently so close to other station the yellow exclamation mark are in the station location limitations zone (the clearer) for reproduce you juste need to axepte ther mission and see where the yellow exclamation mark spawm.

Sorry if my description was not clear enough. There seems to be a limit how close you can buy a plot near a gate. This limit can be "cheated", what's what this report is about.

Exactly - do you want the exploit fixed, or do you want the intended limitation officially relaxed?

personaly, as long the exploit can't permit two station share the same space, i'ts look like useless.

My personal opinion is that the limit doesn't make much sense. Reason: a logical reaction would be to protect entry points. Making logical choices impossible hurts the game. I am going to guess however the limit is there to prevent abuse in non-war times.
Proposal: relax the limit proportionally to the friendliness of the faction.
Rationale: Higher friendliness currently allows buying more lethal tech, which could mean "we know you, we will give you more firepower to help fight bad guys". Thus, building a defence station near an entry point gateway could be allowed to trustees.

Anyway, I don't want to cross your product design guy ;)
