[2.50] Yet more curious AI Pathing with L ships

Had a Wing of Destroyers including Fighters located in Ianamus Zura IV to kill off some Xenon that destroyed the Trading Station. They were ordered to the West Gate to hang around.
The entire wing was ordered to head to the East Gate in Holy Vision, to help HOP fight Xenon K invasion that were attacking stations close to the east gate.
Went to Holy Vision myself, got overtaken by the Fighters of the Destroyer Wing as I was about to enter the Highway in Trinity Sanctum III. When I arrived in Holy Vision, I helped my Fighters that already arrived kill some Xenon, collected containers and then ordered another Destroyer including it's escort towards the west gate of Pontifex's Claim. Spent like 15+ minutes collecting dropped containers from all the kills. Got note that the Destroyer had arrived in Pontifex's Claim at the west gate, checked map saw three more K had spawned at the east gate and noticed the lack of the first fleet of Destroyers (pretty much all their escort was fighting in Holy Vision already). Checked the map as for their location and noticed they were flying around in Argon Prime?!

Tl;dr:
Fleet of Destroyers and Fighters start in Ianamus Zura IV West Gate
Ordered to Holy Vision East Gate
Fighters take the sane route through Trinity Sanctum III
Destroyers go the scenic northern round trip through the Universe (Silent Witness I, Argon Prime, True Sight)
Other Destroyer starting in Trinity Sanctum III past the North Gate about 10 minutes later ordered towards Pontifex's Claim West Gate arrive at destination while above mentioned destroyers just arrived in Argon Prime North.

Both paths have Highways pretty much all the way, the only difference being about twice the distance without Highway in Bright Promise for the correct route.
Highway or not makes literally no difference for L and above and the Fighters (that would benefit from Highways) took the sane route through Trinity Sanctum III I'm at a loss to explain how such a thing is even possible.
It's very annoying too, seeing how the stupid AI pathing oddities cost several millions in Fighters regularly because the Big Guns take a scenic tour through the universe... :rant:
X:BtF: 7/10 | X2: 8/10 | X3:R/TC/AP: 8/10 | X:R: 3/10 | X4: 0/10 (3 points for split ships and stations, 4.0 -> -50 points).
If you are raising pirate activity, give me meaningful ways to deal with them PERMANENTLY. Better things to do than replacing ships every 10 minutes, or babysitting ships getting harassed.
Stopped playing X4 with 4.0 due to outrageous, needless and pointless nerfs to everything. Don't change what wasn't broken in the first place.
