X4:F v 2.50-- remapping 1 and 2 keys

I can't tell if the 1 key and the 2 key (above QWERTY) fail to be remapped or are being reserved for future use.
I am unable to remap them. I hold onto the keyboard near the top left corner. In all games I play, I attempt to
remap the 1 and 2 keys for quick left thumb access. At least X4: Foundations allows me to remap these three
keys or else I wouldn't play the game: F1, F2, `.

They're hard-bound to the four primary weapon groups, and cannot be remapped. Which is a shame.
