[3.0SV] Cannot hire captain for the starting Jaguar - Fix in a future build.

...from the Fires of Defeat start. Crew Capacity shows 1/2, but there's no one else on board. I can only hire Marines or Service Crew. If a save is needed please advise where to send, I haven't been able to do much with Dropbox for the past few hours.

Save won't do any good. After full reload the ship's crew capacity shows 0, and I'm now able to hire a captain.

FWIW, I have the same start, but not the same problem. I was able to hire pilot and crew: The female Split pilot somehow disappeared after handing the ship to me.

I'm having the same issue. I can hire crew / marines, but not a pilot.

Just incase this helps somehow.

1. I started the new game.
2. Looked around and said nope.
3. Started jumping through rings, finally found my way back to "Happy" space (Main Ring).
4. Made my way to ARG wharf, traded crystals for a miner.
5. began trying to hire a pilot... stopped after sometime and continued exploring.

I'm still in the Jag, still can't hire a pilot. I have not done any missions, nor made any progress on main mission.
Hope this helps track the issue down.

There's a hotfix on the way already, this is one of the issues it will address.
