Map ship movement stutter and.....

Started playing last night.. am seeing a couple issues, one that probably needs a fix sooner than later...

First, the steam version of the game is not exiting cleanly now.. You literally have to exit Steam via taskmanager to get it to shut down fully. Just exiting the game or exiting steam still leaves the task running.. have seen others reporting this on steam forums.

Second, I am seeing a ship movement 'stutter' in the map.. The game runs smooth in first person, my FPS is the same, in fact in the map FPS remains the same.. But all the ships in the map stutter long inside the map...

Third, and I am not sure what is causing this yet but I have not found a single Split station even though I have found split ships.. Have mapped all locations and still no stations.. NOTE: this is not happening in every game I have started.. it's hit or miss it seems as to whether stations show up for the Split on a new game start.
