At least, if not using the "Faction Highlighting" colors. Every time I load a game, the "Highlight Visitors" is disabled.

Hm, neither can I now. But I definitely had to enable it more than once. Weird. I'll post more if/when I discover what might trigger its disabling.

Small update: it appears that it's actually being disabled within a play session. I've started the game, noticed that it was disabled, enabled it, then in an hour or so it became disabled again. Must be something that's triggering it while in-game.

Our theory at this moment is that the Steam cloud sync problem is messing with the config file. As far as I know this is supposedly fixed on the Steam Beta branch.

Can it be "messing" with it during play? Does the game hotload the file? (Oh and by the way, I am using the Steam Beta).

Ok, the setting definitely toggles off "on its own" (i.e. without player touching it) during a play session. I wasn't able to ascertain what actions lead to that though.

I have this issue at random not sure why haha. I Always wondered if it's because you have 2 options for this in the main menu as well on the map filter.

I don't use steam sync. I never really looked into why but I have had to re-enabled it at least a half dozen times in 3.0 and 3.1 on my Vanilla Playthrough.
