No trouble so far with 4.0 beta 6, I noted quicksave games are finished loading when the animated progress throbber says 60% (!), this represents almost 2x faster save loading time as before it usually sat at 99% for a while. Approx 30 seconds load time on a 2TB ssd.

edit here we go: Exitcode 222-231, 1028 (Access to physical device lost)
I am sorry to report 4.0 beta 6 has has two crashes moving from beta 5 after installing beta 6.
To report hardware info again (no overclock):
Intel 6950X , 3080GTX from MSI brand (like this matters). 64GB RAM and 1200watt Corsair PSU. If you need my dxdiag please refer to previous posts. I think I'm done here with trying to troubleshoot this problem, good luck friends, I hope egosoft can get the game to be stable.
From my perspective after trying each new Nvidia driver in combination only egosoft beta version 5 has had any help to keep the game stable. I'm locking my game to beta 5 since I had over 40 hours without a crash. EGOSOFT: if you want to ping me about ramdumps (if tools exist) or such I'd be happy to help but IDK what else to do to help you resolve this crash problem.

Checking in again, no crashes on 4.0 beta 6. 30 SERIES team I hope everything works out but it seems the beta resolved all crashes for me. Thanks to egosoft again for resolving this problem in the beta. I have not changed my nvidia driver but the beta 5 and 6 has made the game totally different in performance, not just in reliability but also FPS perfrormance.

As an additional note, despite the huge increase in performance, the power draw is down considerably, with my 3070 usually drawing only 25% power, peaking at around 70% as opposed to the 104.xx% previously.

@Gavrushk hi5 so you are seeing at least some of the performance increases? I was starting to think my build was weird in some way on these beta versions.
I'm willing to endure a very rare crash if the game seems usually stable, so far beta 5 and 6 are more stable than anything else.
I tried tonight to create the typical crash situations but I could not reproduce the problem.

Re: It's time for Exitcode 222-231, 1028 (Access to physical device lost)
Ah, I replied to you earlier in this thread about performance. - It's a huge increase, but I see it more in a reduction in power usage due to running with a Vsync limit. - I never under any circumstances drop below vysnc other than micro-stutters during asset loading which are only picked up by the framerate monitor, nothing to see visually.Poopzone wrote: ↑Fri, 5. And I did everything in my power to make it crash too, but the driver does seem to *eventually* learn its limit and keeps below whatever point it is that triggers the crash, be it voltage , wattage or whateverage.

I still get these errors on my 3000 series card and quite inconsistently - yesterday I played for several hours with no issue, today I played for 20 minutes and received a crash, rebooted and got another 15 minutes before a crash. I've send my debug info to Egosoft, not sure what else I can do to help shake this out (on the latest beta).

Can confirm, got my 3090 FE (paired with r7 5800x) yesterday, game consistently crashes. Longest I've been able to play is an hour, usually crashes within 15 minutes. Running latest 461.40 nvidia drivers.

@ shovelmonkey: The Nvidia driver versions that are supposed to fix the X4 issues are 461.33 or later.

I fat fingered that. I was using 461.40, and even updated their latest hot fix drivers (461.51) which still produce the same results.Alan Phipps wrote: ↑Tue, 9. Feb 21, 21:12@ shovelmonkey: The Nvidia driver versions that are supposed to fix the X4 issues are 461.33 or later.
The 461.51 hot fix release notes didn't mention anything specifically to do with X4, I just tried them for the

Do you have any kind of overclocking or other performance tweaks active on your system?

No manual overclocking. Just the auto boosts that AMD and NVIDIA do on their own. I am using XMP to run my ram @ 3200mhz, but that is what the ram is rated for. Everything is stock setting, I haven't touched any of it. Drivers were DDU'd and clean installed when I got the 3090 as well.

Single cable with splitter from PSU to GPU? Or 2 cables?shovelmonkey wrote: ↑Wed, 10. Feb 21, 16:40No manual overclocking. Just the auto boosts that AMD and NVIDIA do on their own. @shovelmonkey and @luke79
Can you try reducing the max power, and/or underclocking and/or undervolting the gpu a bit?
In general we're trying to work stuff out with nvidia, but it's a very slow process:(
The feedback does help even if we're not actively responding to it.

Two eight pin cables from the psu to proprietary cable provided by NVIDIA that attaches to the 3090 for the FE version of the card.Roeleveld wrote: ↑Wed, 10. Ok, I underclocked the 3090 by 250mhz and set the power limit to 90%. I didn't mess with the voltage because frankly I don't know what I'm doing.timon37 wrote: ↑Wed, 10. Feb 21, 17:12@shovelmonkey and @luke79

That being said, I'm either getting lucky or this is promising. I've been playing for 1.5 hours with no issues. I attached some links to some screen shots ingame and gpu-z performance:

I can try underclocking and undervolting I guess, can't hurt. What software are people using for it?timon37 wrote: ↑Wed, 10. Feb 21, 17:12@shovelmonkey and @luke79

@luke79, I might have missed it, but are you at all using the 4.0 beta 5 or 6? On my rig the beta has not only resolved all the problems I had when I opened this thread, but it has also increased performance on the 30 series nvidia cards dramatically.
I had some limited success with reducing the voltages and power but only the beta version of the game ever actually resolved the problem. I have not changed the driver at all.
