Graphic drivers up-to-date? Check if the chipset drivers and UEFI/BIOS are also up-to-date. This is in case it is caused by a driver bug that has long been fixed.

Yes, all the things are up to date. The problem is somehow related to X4F 6.20 (especially VULKAN API) and the AMD HBCC MemSeg support. I know it because X4F 5.10HF3 works well with no issues with the HBCC MemSeg enabled with the same drivers/UEFI FW versions. The problem occurs at the moment when the game fills video RAM over the physically available volume. I.e. the VEGA is fitted with 8 GB of video RAM and HBCC is configured with 16 GB. When the game fills the 8 GB video RAM and allocates more - it crashes with the error.

There is another game, Kerbal Space Program where I use the HBCC enabled - this game also works well with no issue. But this game uses DirectX. The HBCC itself works well - the KSP freely utilizes 14 GBs (8 video RAM + 6 allocated via HBCC) and it works well.

Then I thought it could be somehow related to drivers and VULKAN API - I was running VULKAN-based video stress test for 24+ hours and it didn't fail. I tested all my hardware (stress-tested CPU and RAM for a long time) - no issues. Tested RAM with MemTest (with all tests by several passes) - no issues. The systems work perfectly stable. The amount of installed RAM is 128 GB in a supported configuration. So physical layer and video drivers aren't the root cause.

Any way to contact Egosoft technical support directly?
I found nothing on the EGOSOFT site.

This IS how you contact Tech Support. Your report has been given a number, which means that the relevant person is aware and will look into as soon as they can.

Hi, Alan. Thank you for the reply.

Yep, I saw. 2 months with no any updates... Don't ask, just wait - perhaps, we will let you know.

Actually, it is not a problem. But, unfortunately, it doesn't warm up my interest in the game. It is possible, I will get too old and quit the game a bit earlier than "the relevant person will find a time" to take a look at this. I've been a fan since y99. Not sure whether would I like to return if I quit. Perhaps, good memories is a better choice than the current present. Anyway, the game is almost dead after 23 years. And I understand - now even you are deciding on whether it makes sense to continue to waste time to reanimate the dead game or not. Actually, a difficult decision.

What do you think? :-) Are you ready to lose good fans?

This is in the Tech Sp rules that you read before posting:

"Bumping threads, adding 'When will this be fixed?' posts that give no further information about the issue in question, and any misuse of the 'reporting' function are all against forum rules and considered as poor manners within Technical Support."

Bumping etc with no new useful information has no effect upon an individual dev's workload and priorities. At least you already knew that they were aware of it.

Hi, Alan.

Thank you for the reply.

I recall the defect. Don't waste your time on it. Rsolution is not required anymore. They were nice 24 years to keep them in memory.

Good luck on your way.

We've looked into it, and we highly recommend disabling HBCC when playing X4.
We have dynamic budget based memory management, which HBCC unfortunately interferes with.
