Removing Npc helmets

Quick question to anyone in the know, are the helmets/visors on npcs seperate things and can they be removed through modding? if so could someone please point me in the right direction.
For clarity it is only the the sunglasses/visors/helmets that i'm interested in and if they're tied into hair/heads then i guess i'm screwed lol but wow they look terrible and i'm hoping they are added seperately.

You can modify the character definitions in libraries\character_macros.xml
Seach for the helmet props and either remove the entry so set the weight to 0.

Thnx for the advice, looked at that file and found the props section for each npc type but wow how the heck do you people even begin to hunt down which prop is which in-game? all i see is an ID don't know how you modders do it tbh.
All i can imagine you people do is painstakingly look through all the assets until you find the right one to match the ID lol must have the patience of a saint.
