I also have a question of my own: Does anyone still have the source code for this converter? The link to it appears to be down as well.

I'm interested in how the .xac converter works in particular. If you also have the .xac documentation lying around, that would also be a huge plus!

Seems like any model that was updated in 4.0 can no longer be converted, can any one confirm that ? I tried converting some split ships after the update and none of them resulted in a doe files. Also COH ships are not being converted. I also tried to use the blender addon, which resulted in this message https://prnt.sc/131hqct for the effected files (only the updated files are not being converted).

I also some time ago tried to convert with ".xmf/.xac <-> .dae converter" Split ships from Split Vendetta DLC, but they not converted, there was error or simply nothing converting, or something like that.

i have a lots of trouble trying to convert the files in to DAE for day's... So, i was wondering if someone make an add-on for blender to directly convert and import them?

There is already a plugin in blender for that, but as I have stated before, all the new or modified models after Egosoft's complete switch to Blender can't be converted back to DAE file format for what ever reason. Not a single asset has been exported from blender to X4 so far, the pipeline is almost done, but not yet used in production.

Ah, I misunderstood/misremembered your quotes from one of the streams, so I thought you were already done with that and have already used it in COH. What did change in the export process to break the current converter ? did you update the 3ds max for example ? the problem is not blender related since even the command line converter refuses to work with most models now.

I dont really know, sorry. I am not aware of big changes made to the converter, but small stuff can break the tools ofc.

Update, after receiving help from dtaco on discord, I was able to extract all DAE files, there are 2 things that I was doing wrong:
1- I was extracting the files into the same directory as the game, what I needed to do was to place the extracted dlcs inside the extracted directory of the main game as fallows: Game>extensions> ego_dlc_terran or ego_dlc_split .
2-I was converting the files manually 1 by 1 , turns out I should have used a for command like this one :

replace 5.10Beta2 with the file name you extracted your game inside.
edit: you can use this same code to extract all models, just remove the word "units\" from the code and it will extract everything for you, keep in mind there are a lot of files in there and if you were storing the files on an HDD it may take a while.

The current converter doesn't have the full capability of converting XCA to DAE, I have read that some people are working on another converter for XCA, but it seems not ready yet.

Non of this works can someone make acctual video how u doing it guys couse i got susspicious that metod just simply not working anymore . Just one few min video that helps to future generations of moders heh ?
