Under quotes, because it wouldn't be "real" diplomacy.

In this scenario, we would be able to disguise our ships as other factions, like the SCA does, and lower standings between factions by attacking a faction while disguised, so they go to war.
Maybe, probably, likely that's hard coded tho, but leaving the idea out there.
Factions are not stupid (kinda are), however, and would suspect something was wrong. A timer would tick up to get their relations back to normal, unless we kept pounding on their stuff.
For balancing reasons, this would require an item, purchased from the SCA, for each ship, that would last for a certain amount of time. Or until a target was destroyed, whatever condition can be modded.

This hasn't been done so maybe it's not possible, but hope this inspires someone :)
