Automated Collect Drops Function

Is there a way to have my ship collect drops (Lodestone and crystals) and I get them in inventory? I had my pilot collect them but couldn't get them. i'm sure I'm doing it wrong.

Nope,that's correct only you personally can pick inventory items.

Is there a way I can tell my self to automate it?

Yeah, I'm not even sure why there is an automated collect drops option, since the pilot on whatever vessel will pick them up, but it seems never give them to you. (that is, for player inventory items) Other drop collections require you to have the proper type of storage (solid, liquid, container) otherwise the ship can't pick them up.

There are mods that auto loot. Tractor beam mod on Nexus too I think that makes the tractor beam (o option) better.
