Player Shipyard rarely used

2.21, built a ship wharf and maintenance dock. Have good relationship with all factions and storage is well stocked.
However NPC/AI only very rarely uses the facilities.
Tried 60%-120% price but kinda same outcome.

How did you get the AI to use your wharf?

Personally, I did not have to do anything but AI use seems to be heavily dependent on location.

I have 7 sectors spread across the vanilla X4-universe with my own S/M/L/XL ship fabrication facilities and depending on the location the AI ship orders vary in both type and volume.

In general, IME the more central the shipyard is universe wise the greater the number of AI ship orders. Typically, the ships ordered by specific factions will be limited to what they would normally spawn with so if you do not have the relevant Blueprints then you will not get the relevant ship orders.

I have ANT buying stuff from my yard in the PHQ sector so that is quite a distance, HOP too. PAR we are at war with. However I think I need all the blueprints in stock first as I only have a few.

My Warth and Shipyard is located in the same sector where the HQ is located.

Whats funny in my own Universe is Shipyard (L and XL, class vessels) doesnt seem to attract buyers where my Warth( S,M and L) usually sells HOP ships mostly, such as Perseus, Therseus and Nemesis. Im still lacking alot of XL blue prints though and some L too.
I did have some Oddies in order from HOP also but i havent got any more of those for the time being.
MY own price is 150% and yes im currently having troubles to get enough supplies of weapon components, shield c. and hull plates. As such from time to time i do restrick new orders in order to fullfill my own needs.
Its a problem if you don´t have any problems.

Once I got my combo SY/Wharf built on top of the infrastructure stations, that place was printing money like a casino. Keep it stocked at about 100m in-station credits and it'll pull in 500 before you know it. My maintenance dock broke even mostly, and most of the supporting stations too, though a few of the support stations pulled in several tens of mil on their own with a thriving little side business.

Did you put a "Ship Trader" in your station?

I have 6 Wharfs/Shipyards they all stay pretty busy...

I bought now all HOP and ANT Defender blueprints. And see they are building more now. But the logic is still wired, in Holy Vision PAR is building destroyer that can't even fly 5m before getting killed by HOP. Same for HOP building ships in Silent Withness 1.

The NPCfactions are at war but i can supply them all without any reputation loss feels unrealistic.

Well that happens in real life fairly often as well so it is not unrealistic from a concept perspective.

The problem is that the orders themselves make no sense since throwing money to buy ships that are destroyed a few seconds after being given the keys for them is not practical. The ships really need to remain property of the player until they reach a safe hand over point (which the NPC factions set, eg their core sectors) at which time the player gets paid for them and the ship changes ownership. The NPCs could potentially pay extra for this service, and only use it if they detect significant enemy (from their perspective) activity around the player owned Warf/Shipyard.

Well I've got a complex in HOP space with all the build modules and it's running fine (no repair facilities at the moment). Mostly building Paranid s/m fighter/frigate ships of the sentinel type as HOP seems to favor them. Once in a while an Odysseus sentinel as well. Occasionally ANT and ARG order some s/m ships. I don't have all the blueprints yet, but at the moment it seems that (in HOP space) only ANT, ARG and HOP orders are placed.


In my game XL ships are never ordered (just s, m and l)

My shipyard is making me the most money out of all the stations and trading ships I own, I think it's down to location and what you can actually build, I have mine at Grand Exchange (the free station you get) and it just keeps building. Faction wise I get alone with them all except Xenon etc ...

Btw if you check Mission manager logs it tells you what you need ie credits, shiptrader etc depending on station you build.
