Should taking out a Xenon I really be this easy?

Should taking out a Xenon I really be this easy?

I charged head on in travel mode, dropped out on its back where the turrets could not reach me, jumped into my space suit and planted an EMP bomb on its hull, detonated and repaired signal leak and boom, threat neutralized. And I know have the only battleship in the game under my command. Slow as hell and can't be piloted but makes for an excellent gate blockader or station defender.

Is it really supposed to be this easy or this a bug? I mean it seems a bit anticlimactic.

Bug, long awaiting to be fixed.

That said, it's not like sitting on its back and pounding away to actually blow it up is any harder. Just takes longer. But that is, apparently, feature.

Well that's good to know. I wouldn't mind being able to capture Xenon ships, but I do think it should require some effort at least. :P

In my opinion it's OK if you can capture a Xenon ship with just an Emp bomb, wathever it's size. Especialy when one can only do this with the large, i.e. slow, ships.
I'm wondering if one could capture a P this way if they would sit still for a while.
