A grand experiment mission
Hello,
I am doing the "A grand experiment mission" (teleporting the station) and am currently at step3, deploy navigational beacon in a safe area. I have tried deploying them all over the sector to no avail (I have no "safe" area designated on the map).
Does anyone know where the location for this beacon is?
Thank you.

All Boso says is hello there when I go to talk to him.

Re: A grand experiment mission
In my situation, I placed the nav beacon in the same sector but far enough so that it doesn't intersect. Boso will say that there are ships there and that they will be destroyed and if you want to proceed.
Re: A grand experiment mission
Then you might not have the corresponding mission. Boso should have a chat entry where you can select the beacon. If the beacon is placed too close to a station it won't work; if Boso says that there are ships around and they will be destroyed you can choose to continue (in which case those ships will be destroyed and you may lose some standing) or to postpone and go place (or choose) another beacon.

Re: A grand experiment mission
Well my issue was my base wasn't in the "normal" starting sector so had to stick a nav beacon there to get Boso to talk to me and in the sector my base was in to teleport to.
Re: A grand experiment mission
Oh, you have used a custom start I presume ... good that you have found a way (if you have mentioned that the station was not in the regular sector I would've told you that the initial action has to take place there as the station location prior to the teleporting feature was hard coded).grumble3141 wrote: ↑Wed, 17. Re: A grand experiment mission
I am using a default Terran playthrough, have tried in a lot of places but nothing happens when I deploy a nav beacon it is getting pretty annoying.
Can't someone just share a screenshot or say where they placed theirs?

Re: A grand experiment mission
Anywhere outside any traffic lanes and away from other stations. You get no confirmation of a correct placement as you can teleport the station as many times as you want as long as you re-do the teleport research and have beacons in safe areas. Safe areas are, as I said, any area that isn't within the traffic lanes or too close to stations.
After you place one just go back and talk to Boso Ta.
