gone through about 10 mil in ships so far trying to solve this problem

upgrade miners to flak turrets, this buys them some time but they eventually get overrun

tried assigning combat ships to intercept for them, they derp around at a distance and dont do much

patrol default only shoots targets as they come across them but they patrol so slowly that they dont respond to threats revealed by the many satellites in the system

defend position works but given the range i would need hundreds of fighters to scream the entire mining field

tried taking the ships off station auto mine and onto sector automine so i could repeat the defend and intercept command son individual ships same result, they derp around at range and dont respond

i like that the khk attack now so we have to defend our miners but very frustrating when i cant find a viable solution to defend them, still trying to get the economy started with my hull parts factory but im burning mining ships and combat ships so fast that the economy is barely functioning right now

would appreciate any assistance please

I think you need to find and destroy the hive in the sector?

Use L size mining ships.

Escort ships with turrets set to attack enemies might work?

Sure, there are workarounds, but that should not be necessary. The patrol order really needs a rework, it is completely useless as is.

Hy Nz Crusaider, it seems you have an old save Game, i have a question do you find enough materials?
My Problem is my miners dont find enough, and they do crazy things.
Some Miners jump to the other side of the map so more than 8 Sektors (5 should be maximum)
Some Miners deliver lets say 10% Ice, but keep all the Erz, so they go back Mining with a 90% full cargo, sometimes 99 %
sometimes they are full and dont deliver, i have more than eough storage, maybe too much i can store 14 000 000 liquid and 15 000 000 of hard Material and 110 000 000 Container
I have 8 Mega Stations and every Station have the same problems, i think it cums with beta 6 or so..
And i have more than 280 Resource beacon, fun fact first i went out and placed only one, to see whats happening, all Miners from all Stations cum to this one Resource beacon :evil:
For me its totally broken, do you find enough Materaials and do your Miners work correctly?

Thought i linked my 4.0 beta 9 save, if i grabed an old 3.0 or 2.0 save by mistake let me know

The save i was trying to upload was started on 4.0 beta 8 and resaved on beta 9,

The miners were getting enough ore and methane for the station once i had 3 of each but the khk hive in the north of the system which should have a satellite next to it was sending out so many hive ships my fleets keept getting wiped out

If its a current save i uploaded the only assets should be the phq and the hat Choice 3 hull parts station, a bunch of scouts on explore and a few other ships in the fleet, split fires of defeat gamestart

update = here is the most recent save i took a few minutes ago after leaving my game running overnight - quite a few ship looses overnight , nividium miners have slowed down a ton = https://drive.google.com/file/d/13wb4u3 ... sp=sharing

Thought an update is in order, spent most of the day using seta to test out solutions

So far i got up to 2 large miners, they survived for a while but eventually the khk brought enough numbers to swarm one of them, caught it just before it blew up so was able to salvage 2/3 of the purchase cost by selling it to the ai just before it hit 0% hp

After restricting the other large miner to the station system via blacklist i noticed it only goes to mine ore in a somewhat small section of the ore field near the station so i grabed a flight of 6 aeres with pulse lasers and to them to repeat order attack all enemies in 3 seperate spheres that cover the mining area and the station

Seems to be keeping the khk under control for now and when all 3 zones are empty the zones start alternating rapidly between them like a strobe light as the ships flick between the 3 orders to check for stuff to shoot

Going to run it on seta for the next 6 hours whilr i try to sleep to see if the station and assets are still in one piece in the morning, i expect that only a fighter or two will die but will have to wait and see
