[5.00 beta 5] OBS capture fullscreen

Post by maverikstation » Wed, 16. Feb 22, 20:39

Hello,

On version 5.00 beta, all versions, I can't anymore capture the game with OBS on "fullscreen capture application".
I have to capture the monitor but I get a bug and then I get a blackscreen.

I know it's sound be a OBS bug but before that's working with X4 and It's easier and more efficient to do this for me and so share with community.
So, if you can take a look on it.

Thanks you all team :)

It would really help if you could provide more information, as requested at the top of the forum. Your DXDiag and vulkaninfo would be a start, as they would give us an idea what graphics card and driver version you are using.

When you say "working with X4" you mean 4.20? I have had a similar issue in the last few days, but that's with "Game Capture", and rolling back to 4.20 did not help.

There have been reports of OBS failing to capture games in the past, and there is a list of programs that can cause issues. Perhaps it's worth taking a look: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Known-Conflicts
Come watch me on Twitch where I occasionally play several of the X games

I used Game Capture the other day to make a video of beta footage so the functionality still does work, at least under some conditions. I did have some capture performance issues (dropped frames) but that is unlikely to be related.

In addition to above a possible cause could be something buggy with the graphic driver as that is responsible for most of the operation of Vulkan. You could try clean installing the graphic drivers using a tool like Display Driver Uninstaller to completely remove the existing graphic drivers before installing again. This would rule out an incomplete or broken graphic driver install as a cause. Might be worth trying a few graphic driver versions from the last few months in case it is a regression problem with the current version of the driver.

Yes Xenon_slayer, before the version 5.00 beta, I was on 4.20.
But you are right, maybe coincidence that is happen now.
But (again :P) It's working on my others games.

I tried to export vulkaninfo. Is it okay like this ? (JSON format)

I did not try to go back to 4.20

I don't have the overlay from NVIDIA Experience
I don't have the overlay from discord (I tried without it)
I tried to go back to 4.20
