People were saying that a few days ago, Skeeter, on April 1st, when the store page wasn't up. I think most people have worked out by now that it's not.

Nice that its got some love still after all these years. I never really got into x3 series of the games, no cockpits or internal docking and probs other things. I did play some of the story of main x3 game but thats about it, didnt last long. Shame cos the game looked nice enough but erh those docking arms, and external views i just didnt like at all.

I recently just upgraded my PC all around (from 1080p laptop to 2k144 monitor & a great build). Now AP is like 120 fps everywhere on a 2k monitor instead of 30ish on a tiny screen. Been waiting for just an excuse to come back again after perhaps 5-6 vanilla runs. Three days ago was my birthday and this is genuinely the best gift that ever happened to me.

What’s your processor? X3 runs in a decades old game engine which eats up CPU.

That’s 3.7 base clock up to 4.7.

The biggest wish I have in terms of X3 is that Egosoft will overhaul the old game engine to utilize multi cores. So we can use all these shiny mods without our PCs getting bogged down.

Best not to think of mhz but IPC these days.

A x3 era 3ghz cpu "main core" compared to 3ghx today cpus, are much different in workloads speeds.

The new Ryzens have excellent single core performances, in fact, the best on the market on the moment with basically no competition from Intel.

I bought a ryzen specifically to run older games like X3 that has no multi core/thread optimization. So far it is doing a great job with its raw single core performance.

X3, football manager, paradox games, mount & blade, etc., all run over or close to 144fps on my desktop.

Now if only we get some reasonable prices on the GPUs...
