Dunno.. seems kinda old hat

I've been thinking of starting a clan for all those who are over 35.. I'm calling it 'The Vestal Virgins'... It will be one of those clans dedicated to...err... to... err.... Actuallly, the name is about as far as I've got with the idea.. but all middle-aged gits are welcome to join... hehe

That would work!! hehe... though in my case( with my eyesight being a bit poor) I have to hope they are using a lurking device. (according to AJ, in another post, in another thread, use of this device gives you elephantitis of the of the gonads). It's the only way I won't miss. :P

I think we should avoid the Split Boogie Woogie (read AJ's post further up). I don't think being dressed as a Vestal Virgin, whilst standing knee-deep in Split Boogie Woogie would do much for the reputation and dignity of the clan... hehe

I just hope pirating can be made to work beter than it does in Jumpgate, some pirates in that game are just plain mean people that love to spoil your day! but! there are many that just enjoy the risk of being a pirate and play in a fair but interesting way.

happens with every online game though to some extent.
this is where clan/guild respect comes in,the teamkillers would tend to veer toward a less respected pirate clan/guild and thus we would soon wipe them out en masse.
BUT..given that the clan/guild members are at least respectable and x-minded then the off shoots in missions and the unknown aspect would make the game a global success.

get the pirate clan built and by release the rep should be adequate to insure against t`killers and fools.

have high hopes for XOU...if we ever get it

Ok peeps here's a thought, are rival clans/groups/guilds gonna hold en mass conferences, are we (the players) going to have get togethers, like tea and sticky buns around the table ?

I'm quite excited about aspects of X:OU, never wanted to get involved with galactic politics tho, anyway I vote  as galactic chair person :)
Victims, aren't we all ?

the scope encompasses every aspect imaginable....all thats missing is the software.
and free broadband too,get those sorted and we could kiss the real world goodbye.

as an after thought:
the pirate angle itself will split into different factions,eg:public pirates, secret pirates, buccaneers and swashbucklers.
secret societys of assassins...its never ending.

the swashbucklers will stand out as thier logo is bound to be pink

Don't forget: where there are pirates, there are bounties, and where there are bounties, there are bountyhunters.

I don't know who are the biggest scum of them two :D

to repeat what i keep saying.

its the class of pirate clan that will determine how long they last.

join the wrong one and its useless to even think about pirate conglomerates as no one will want to join for fear of being tarred with the clan/guild brush.
seen clans fall in a few days just because 90% of them want to play, yet 10% want to mess about.
the 10% will always wreck it for the 90% as reputation in online communitys is everything.

so any discussions taking place AWAY from here would be immaterial..as they have no relevance to X the game.

edit:
the pirate clan/guilds will also need to nurture an atmoshere of fun for the majority rather than the minority for the swashbuckling,
so some may need a change of stance.

what about the rogue pilots who lurk around bounty hunters hoping they get damaged enough to take easily

and the ultra rogues who go for the rogues who go for the bounty hunters who go for the pirates and criminals....

GOD i cant wait...

bounty hunters and others of the same ilk should also have an option to decorate thier ships with trophys.
for they are "the beast who makes trophys of men"

Hmmm....a really good idea. Everybody is laughing but sometimes i wish i could also change from pirate to....how do you call it.....Harem. :D

Bountyhunters, rogues or whatever....i saw that most pirates in your engl. area have a really bad image. I dont know why or how but everybody should remember that behind the computer the same kind of lawful humans are just wasting their times with playing games like X. (or at least should...*g* )
the scope encompasses every aspect imaginable....all thats missing is the software.

The real world will maybe let us kiss her a**, but thats a seroius theme. Some people, who think they can control the weather ( by example ) passed my way and sometimes i think that this is the result of free or at least cheap broadband. The quality of the most games is so high, that most people better would live in the virtual world than in the real. The good old times...
