TH clue 7
I'm stumped on clue 7 atm and not sure what to try. Ive got vanilla 2.7.1 and when i go to the coords given in there is no crate. Another poster ages ago mentioned the same thing and said that reloading from a previous save worked for him. Unfortunately it did not for me. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

how to find cordinates
followed your directions as to how to us move to position but it doesent work any ideas of what iam doing wrong
I am having a bit of a problem with part 4, I went to Akleela's Beacon, immediate saw two nav beacons, first spawned a few Kha'ak and the second put me right back at the warp gate coming from Aladana Hill....and nothing. Not data storage device to be found. I have searched high and low all over the sector and can find nothign now, not even any more beacons.
Any ideas?

for the mission guildence, just go back to a previous save and re-do it, for finding the first device however
its a huge nividuim rock in ore belt, and you can mine it as well as receive the device.
1stly - get device..
2ndly mine the nividium! big credits for the nividium....
hopefully that should help...

The passengers in the last mission /have/ to be carried by your personal ship: if you transferred away during the last part, the mission won't be completed until you have docked at the correct station & transferred the passengers back to you
If you leave the last part too long
Have fun!

The Pirate Albatross may well be surrounded by ships too powerful for you to defeat & then board the ship. In the current game I had a Shrike, a Deimos & assorted other M8s, M6s & M3s to deal with. When I first checked the area there were a few Yaki M4s & the like - easy protection for a half-decent ship. By the time I had trained my marines however the pirate had gathered many enemies - too many for my under-armed Cobra to disburse. Others more experienced than me may use this as a boarding exploit; I chose to take the passengers & run
BTW the boarding commands will /not/ work until the last passenger is aboard - this includes boarding pods - so don't bother flying up close & grabbing the passengers whilst your BPs are inbound as you won't be able to launch them

The above worked like a charm. I only recently discovered the treasure hunt, so I had already had 10 marines trained up and waiting. This was my first organized attempt to capture anything.Snafu_X3 wrote:To confirm in TC:3.0

I jumped a Cobra to the south gate, and positioned it around 20 km SW from Albatross, keeping the Cobra clear of the Albatross' course east as well helping to avoid embarrassing attempts to board asteroids through poor line of sight. While the Cobra gets into position I arrived using the east gate in my Griffon loaded up with IPG's, ID's and FAA's (it's worth noting every time I tried using south gate the Albatross would move far enough east for the Deimos to take notice of causing all sorts of problems with my levels of patience for the Paranid)
After disposing of the three of four fighter groups, and taking the hull down to 75% purely out of superstition, I shut everything but the ID's on the front turret down and signalled the Cobra to begin negotiations, which went swimmingly. =) And all my marines lived!!

Ok this is odd, as a semi newbie:
I go to the second step of mission, to meet the Susanowa in Yaki sector...
1) The Yaki go enemy on me (from friendly) and keep doing so even if I turn it off to friend again because I assume of the resulting battles it triggers, see #2 below
2) They have an M1 CARRIER in the zone!!! argh!! now I cna take it out but lose 3 or 4 ships doing so at best (In a panther with 12 x M3's)
is that the one the quest reffers to?
maybe if I jump out, fly back in my fast M3 Mamba raider ot get ot Usanowa and sitll be able to deal with stuff?
meh this is first time with game I've been fed up with it :/

One way to deal with red ships you don't want to destroy(or can't), is to fly in with a fast ship(kestrel comes to mind). Fly away from the area you want to work in. When far enough away, engage SETA and go fix a cup of coffee, nice spot of tea or a couple fingers of scotch(whatever suits you). When they are far away from your point of interest, jump back to the gate and get to work. They'll be a while getting back.
Brute force and ignorance solves all problems, just not very efficiently.
If brute force isn't working, then you aren't using enough.

Another question on Treasure Hunt and Terran Plot
I made it to the final mission, but it appears that I waited to long to finish it and now when I go into the Sector nothing happens. I tried this several times and still nothing happens, should I just give up on this mission ?
Also I have been playing the game as humble trader and completed Final Fury and half way through the HUB plot, I have yet been able to get the Terran Plot did I go wrong somewhere or or will the Terran Plot show up?

Xenon 101
Savage SpurSpoilerShowBefore entering pick a ship with speed greater than 150 so you will be able to out run almost all Xenon ships in the sector except an N of course.
Put a decent weapon in your rear turret to pick off N's when they close with you and set turret to target all enemies.
The key to solving this hint is speed AND a reasonable weapon load out, an M5 just will not do, there is an M3 to sort out at the shipwreck
Don't forget the derelict ship "above" the gate
HTHSpoilerShowIt is possible to take out all Pirates which surround the TL with a single ship - enter via North gate and approach TL
Engage Pirates hopefully taking out one or two before jumping to South gate - reason? the Pirates will move towards you, the fastest ships will be first (M5's) followed by M4's etc giving the opportunity to deal with them one at a time. You will have time to pick up missiles on the way so don't worry about bringing any to the party
There will be several Pirates left at the TL
You need a Cargo Life Support system onboard
Ensure you have sufficient cargo space to hold the crew or you will need to clear out cargo then strip TL sheilds down until each crew member is transferred
here's my method for nailing the TL...

bring an M7M and fighter drones with that has both a transporter and the type II drones and plenty of flail missles. Target all escorting ships and destroy them. then get within 4 km of target and keep pace. you will get all the civy's out. once accomplished - Jump away. Its much simpler than using either a fighter or a springblossom...

Excusme for the dumb question, but how do I change seat to a turret? I can't find any controls for it. I even ordered that turret to attack my target while targeting the asteroid and still nothing (giving the proper firing range)Ketraar wrote:1. Install the laser into a suitable slot (some ship only allow it be mounted in the back). Change your seat to that turret if necessary and fire it as you would any other laser.
2. That roid is not minable by default (for obvious reasons)
3. To blow it up use Hornet missile, Hammerhead or any equivalent. Some lasers do break it too.
MFG
