Wow, awesome chapter. Though to be fair, flying around space, shooting people is Ea't's version of Paradise.

Thanks, mate. :D

So I'm playing again. I've decided that I'm going to play through all of the plots and complete Shady Business, which has quite a few requirements to get there. Right now I'm remembering how to play. Specifically I'm remembering how to organize, arm, supply and resupply a fleet. Given the level that Drake is at this is a substantial undertaking. He has an income of roughly a hundred million credits an hour. I also apparently hadn't checked in with my miners in a while and had to unload the Sisyphus (the TL that brings the nividium from the current mine to the shipyard in Senator's Badlands) 4x in fairly rapid succession. It was full. The Tartarus (the mobile pirate base and command ship for the mining outfit) was full. And the majority of my miners had stopped collecting because THEIR holds were also full. So that was a quick 600,000,000 credit infusion. The Emporium that I've been using to offload the mats I get from salvaging those derelicts in Senator's Badlands was sitting on nearly 140 million credits. The Nova Somnia had over 60 million credits, and the alpha complex, which only sells surplus over 75% was sitting on another 40 million. Of course... I do have a shiny new shuri to outfit and I totally forgot just how time consuming EVERYTHING in this game actually is.

But... yeah. I'm in the game again and intend to finish both all of the plots and this story because I think I intend to start something new when I play X4.

So thanks to everyone for sticking around this long and cheering me on from time to time. Also never, ever fear to poke or noodle me. It lets me know you're still reading and that gets me thinking about all of it again.

So cheers, folks. Oh, and I actually am already writing the next chapter. They may speed up, in fact, since there will be more after action stuff to drive it along.

Awesome to hear.

Commodore's Log, Ea't s'Quid:

Split is now Commodore over many ships in fleet of Huruk'tar. Mighty firepower, fast speed. If there is trouble, Call Split.

I've been re-reading NS's Wanton Use(...). Still impressed at his mastery of the game. He understood it in a way that is just beyond my humble skills.

That, in turn, got me looking at A Pirate's Story, my first DiD. I tell yah. I either had no idea or simply forgot just how funny that story was. The character in that one? The "I" guy? Drake's pappy? That mofo is effin' hilarious. Holy crap. I've been literally laughin' hard enough to make my sides hurt.

Of course... it could just be a consequence of a failing mind. The joke's funnier the second time around cos I'm too old to remember tellin' it the first time.

Ain't age grand?

Yeah. Then again, I rarely re-read my stuff, because I tend to be overly critical.

Yay, a new chapter! :D
Loved it, especially the twist at the end.

*readies a fresh pool noodle from the locker and goes back to hibernation*

And of course; SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

:D

I'd ready the pool noodle, but I'm afraid it went into full meltdown (bloody heatwaves I tell yah), so I'm gonna need to refrigerate the next one. In the meantime, consider yourself noodled, Scion ;)

Hey folks,
I just got nudged by Olterin and started a reply. A sentence or two in I realized this belonged out here and not in a PM so, here we go. I've got a substantial amount of the next chapter written but, as always, I tripped over a scene and slowed down. Then I got distracted and now, thanks to the nudge, have started looking at it again. In case you don't know (wink wink) I really do get motivated by feedback.
So cheers all.

Dear Scion. It has now been almost three weeks since my last noodling ...

*unpacks a fresh pool noodle and gives Scion a friendly noodling again*

On a totally unrelated sidenote this is starting to get me in the mood to write again.
I was tempted to say "let's see if I can finish before Scion," but with my history of running face first into either pirates or Xenon I think not. :p

Death is technically finishing, I will point out.

Being technically right is the best kind of right. Right?

But yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of surviving to the intended end of the story, and not die prematurely to Xenon or pirates.
Given the people that tend to hang around here I guess I should have included that part. :p

Of course, you'd have to go ahead and do things cautiously. And you know, not try and fight a Q 1v1 with a discoverer. You're not me, you can't pull shenanigans like that.

I do try, but Murphy's Law show up and bite me in the ass all the time. And the last time I tried to fight a Q was with an M6. I'm not bonkers enough to try taking out a Q with a Disco :p
