Need to ask a question about this script.
When you place your trade beacons and activate them to where you want your ST and UT to start at I understand, but how do you start the sector trader? Do you need a certain software to make him begin as a sector trader?

my question is, does anyone have an updated link to the Corrected SPK?
AND
Will the traders avoid entering unsatelited areas?
for example, will he STILL fly through a pirate sector with no satellite to get to another sector that does?

Hi, i've been looking for a script like this for a few days now. I'm very new to X3 so i'm a total noob so i apologise.
Do i download the "SatbasedMK3.zip" and just unzip it into the X3 Folder? is it as easy as that?
I've already downloaded and installed Apricotslices' Gunbus Mod.

Hi again, i got the Script working. i've just bought my first Trade ship and i had to rename the Satellites back to "Your Advanced Satellite" and then selected the Sectors that the Trade ship is allowed to enter to trade. And they were then renamed to "Adv Trade Beacon" as you described. However, when i bought my second Trade Ship and tried to give it instructions as above it say's "Advanced Trade Beacon does not qualify" do i have to repeat the whole process again of renaming them back to "Your Advnaced Satellite"?

Hi all,
I used Zzyn's sattelite limited Universe trader. the only thing wrong is that the choices added to the trade menu say "ReadText somenumber" instead of the cammand it is. there are 3 new commands and they all say this. anyone know how to fix this?

It appears to be conflicting with one of the bonus pack components. I'm not sure what to do with it either. This was one of my most useful script packs.

I'm going to try and use this till someone can figure out how to change the command/text references on the Sat limiter.

UT Protection

Basically hiring a fighter escort on the fly. It'll cost you cash, but it is something.


Other suggestions for alternatives welcome.

Well, it's actually not that hard to figure out. The first command is the where you choose the satellite to restrict to, the second clears the satellites. The first lets you pick a sector/sat, and the second doesn't do anything. I'll test this tonight if I get time.

Also, thanks for the UT Protection script I'll try it and probably still use it (some sectors are good for trade but have pirates cruise through them, an M3 or 2 with the UT would help)

Well where's the conflict? It would be nice to change the xml code to something that either the bonus pack or Xtended doesn't occupy.

I'm not really sure :D but I hope it gets fixed because it's annoying. Maybe I'll take up learning X3 scripting and add it to my collection of programming things to learn :).

Then I'll let you know if I find anything.

Thanks for that! I do know XML, quiet extensively, so I'll look into this if I get a chance and see what I can come up with. I'm a busy guy though, so I don't know when that will be, probably the weekend.

Noob small problem

I installed it and it wants to work, renamed my adv sats with the menu in the trade console to add the trade beacon, but the new ship I bought for theis says that the pilot is not of a high enough level to do this so I made him a sector trader until he get to level 8, is this correct

A little "Heads Up" on a possible problem: When I go to the ".spk" version to down load all I get is a page of ASCII code. Or did I miss something between page 1 and page 15 of this thread. I admit to not reading all of the pages.

I would really like to see this working.. I love the idea but all i get from .spk file is a bunch of letters... =[ ( I tryed to copy and pasting it into a text file and ya... but X plug in manager says does not support old .spk file... and the other file doesn't even work.. can someone just give me a link to a re packed version by any chance

Oh, I see what you mean. You can always use the zip file and package it yourself.
