Just had the most remarkable battle in Black Hole Sun. 2 Xenon P's and there escorts were attacking a station when i jumped in with my B-wing and 4 x-wing squad.

It was not a long fight :) with a couple of lesser m's as caps. However I noticed several Yaki ships were heading for the south gate so i went to inspect. It was a fab view 5 tie fighters in x formation just minding there own business :twisted:

I just sent the 4 x-wings in and stood back and bathed in nostalgia. Gota love being a Star Wars fan and having this mod :)

All,

Some of you may have noticed that the DDRS Forums and the X-Wiki are off line. When you try and access either of them, you will see:
This account has been suspended. Either the domain has been overused, or the reseller ran out of resources.
Actually there is no problem with the account or domain, it was just that my son (who manages of the site) needed to shut things down quickly, and deactivating those accounts was the quickest way.

Apparently while I was away on business last week, some low-life hacked both X3 sites I am hosting...the results were quite nasty, and created an active threat to some of the other sites we host.

The good news is that I had already started on a refresh of both sites, using the latest versions of the many software packaged that I'm running. I have current backups, so the data should be intact.

Of course the recovery and re-launch of the sites is now my top "spare time" priority, and I'll post back here once the sites are back on line.

Your patience is appreciated.

The "bad news" is that this will delay the DDRS "Consolidation" release I had been tinkering with...sigh :cry:

The mod is quite nice.. I really like the new ship models.
Although i dont know what should i do to start those missions.
I didnt find any guide with the mod that explains what to do.
Maybe a walkthrough?

avpxdk,

There are two "readme" files that get automatically installed into your X3 root folder. They are:
  • 1. "Readme for DDRS Rebalanced V2.5.txt" (includes a section on Gameplay)
    2. "UniCap V1.xx.j Readme.txt" (which is a really nice script set by Brand-X, that enables you to capture big ships)

Where can i find the grey Sulaco shown in the screenshot?
In DDRS 2.5 there is only the "split-skinned" Sulaco...

pls, help :(

EDIT: *sigh* decided to try one more time and one finally bails, still, whats up with the defend missions? Is it SUPPOSED to take 6 hours of reloading in order to get the ship I need? If I have to do that each time im going to burst a blood vessel and run out of keyboards.

EDIT2: *sigh* got the ship back to the pirate base and.... nothing happened, do I have to take out ALL the ships before it will finish, does having captured one of the wingmen ships break the mission if I keep it? No im not flying the ship I have to capture, im in another ship, one of the wingmen that bailed, theirs no info in the readme on how to end these missions, I dock the ship at the pirate base, sitting outside the base doesn't do anything, docking after the ship doesn't do anything, little help?

EDIT3: 8 hours after accepting said mssion, no ship to show for it, I give up. :cry:

EDIT4: finally got an "assasination" mission and got the ship, still not sure why the other mission refuses towork, but while im here, is it possible to use a "no civilian" mod as theres an excessive flood of civilian ships around the universe, but i dont know if this mod messes with the job files.

Sometimes I also get a flood of ships...it's GOD related, and not something coming from DDRS. Theoretically, the GOD module will take care of the extra ships over time. However my experience shows that "once a crowd, always a crowd" :(

Sorry to hear about the problem with the mission. There are quite a few suggestions on how to work that (and other) missions in the DDRS threads, but I recognize that trolling through hundreds of posts is a real pain.

What I usually do on "defend" missions is to place an M5 with a triplex scanner just outside of each gate leading into the sector with the PHQ. I then keep switching between the various adjacent sectors until I see a group of custom DDRS ships (still colored blue at that point)...after which I jump a wing or two of my ships to the relevant gate. This way I set up my ships prior to the attacking wing(s) entry into the sector with the PHQ.

Ugh so most problems i've found work arounds for, not to big a deal, but whenever I pick a "go collect ship x from sector x" mission its ALWAYS "you will be able to purchase ship type null"

EDIT: Some reason I got the HQ before I have all the ships, hope that didn't break anything, havn't had any new missions since. :cry:

UGH, Now I have to start all over again because for some reason I stopped getting missions entirely, what the hell am I doing wrong?

I got various m5, m4 and a few m3 missions aswell as TP asnd TS missions but then I got the HQ mission and BAM my whole game was screwed, Restarting the plugin from the AL menu never seems to work, I shut it off then turn it back on and never recieve new missions so restarting that isn't an option, and my fighting rank was reasonably high so I couldn't see that blocking mission progression, what am I doing wrong seriously?

I love the mod, I love the ships, but what good is it if I can't unlock them?

And now I have to go through all the stupid m5 and m4 missions with ships that can barely be caught all over again, sorry im just a little miffed that an entire week has been utterly wasted. :cry:

Sorry im sure you have guides and everything posted up but the DDRS forum is innacessable so its no good to me right now.

I just checked, and the DDRS forums are working are working. Also, there is an extensive "readme" file installed into your X3 root folder. To be honest, it sounds like a mod conflict or install problem. What else are you running?

I don't know anything about Xtended, and can't really help you with moving ships around. Sorry.

in the artificial life menu, stop the DDRS PLUGIN

count to 10
go make a coffee
restart the plugin, should fix your problem.

The section on gameplay that you are looking for is in the DDRS readme file.

The file you are referring to (that is in German) was extracted and translated by a friend from the German forums.

DDA, I noticed something odd about the Asteroide Base.

The support arms for the large ship docking points are not using double sided textures. As such, you can't see the parts backsides when looking through the laticework. :D

Hello Deadly, You dont know me but I just wanted to say I enjoy this Mod much and just love your Babylon 5 models.

I know you did many ships on request and I was wondering why you made the Omega a M2 instead of a M1 (something like the Terran Odin since the Omega can dock starfuries in the Babylon 5 show).

I have been trying to read some threads about adding internal docking myself, but it's just little bit above my head :)

So I was hoping maybe you had made the Omega a m1 before deciding it had to be a m2 or something(for whatever reason) and you have the carrier vesions still laying around somewhere.

p.s. The rotating part on the Omega is just awesome, was that hard to do?
