DDRS and XTM are separate mods. Once Cycrow's ship installer is stable in XTC (already is fully stable in X3R), you should be able to pick ships from any mod and add them into another.
If you play DDRS, all modded ships need to be unlocked thru gruelling combat missions before you can buy them. No free lunch!

@ Tikonderoga: There are a number of DDRS combat scripts (UniCap1, etc.) that cause conflicts with XTM, and so can only be played with DDRS. Check out what's available here: http://xforum.chaos.net.nz/viewforum.php?f=23

who knows? I'm guessing 1-2 months before the first beta. Then we need to get the old team together for betatesting..
You're welcome to chip in, if you want a taste of what's coming. Lots of ships to get pretty radical facelifts.
Just finished banging out some new Capture ship concepts here: http://xforum.chaos.net.nz/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=436 They should be pretty fun to pilot, methinks! If you could, check out the specs and tell me what you think..Like if they're too over-spec'd, too powerful, etc.

Ah...no. Completely different mods, in the "same space". Since we both use many of the same config files, and both have scripts tightly coupled to those config files, running them at the same time is not possible.
Those players who like both mods typically have separate install folders.
As an FYI: DDRS is pretty much "stable" these days, with no changes planned. However we are getting very close to releasing the first beta of DDTC, with many new ships, and employing an MD-based framework using missions to introduce the ships, rather than the previous script pack.

Ah It aint XTM compatable...just it scews the game up people... Tho I have tryed XFP, Rougeys Mod and XTP all together....only the base game ships are available...but when going into certain sectors the game crashes...plus to note that some places have extra suns and wiered backgrounds...
