so i tried it again, i reinstalled everyting. started, stopped an restarted the server manually again... stopped and started the script ingame...

first i run server and client on the same pc and it does not work for me. even when using the hide.exe, x3 is visible on the taskbar and i could not see any difference in x3 when opening again after several minutes. i still just could see the statistics.

same on the client on another pc. i just can see statistics, even if x3 is running.

i dont know what i'm doing wrong... perhaps my x3 does not want to be used remotly ;-)

The X3RPM script shows up correctly in game (you can turn it on and off in the AL menu)? Are you following the x3hide.exe steps accurately? I can't think of why it's not working, it sounds like x3hide is failing to hide x3.

What OS are you running? It sounds like you've done everything you need to.
Are you on Vista? Because I've only got XP and have only tested this on XP.

yes, the script is running correctly, i can turn it on and off and it is doing something...

x3hide is really not working, i looked in the taskmanager and x3 gets no resources, when x3hide is started and game is minimized. even if the the cmd does not show a problem with hiding x3... i dont know which steps i should follow, it's just to write "x3hide hide", isn't it?

my os is xp home...

You just need to run the file in the x3hide directory "open cmd.bat" to open a command prompt, then type:

Code: Select all

x3hide.exe hide
and the program should then output:

Code: Select all

Hiding...
Done
To hide x3 and allow it to run in the background.
When you're finished with it, to bring x3 back, type

Code: Select all

x3hide.exe show
and then the program should output:

Code: Select all

Showing...
Done
That should work. After it is hidden, X3 should disappear from the taskbar. This is meant to happen and you will then be able to use the other tabs of X3RPM.

Hmm, I'll have a look at x3hide now and see if I can find out what's going on...

EDIT: Out of curiosity, what service pack are you running?

EDIT2: Okay, I think I've got it working now, try this:

Yeah, it should work fine on SP2, I had it working on it before. Hopefully it'll work okay now. The program is a bit of a hack, but I'd hate to have it not work.

Ah, that it does... I had it working only a second ago.

I'll have another go.

Okay, I think this is it for real this time.

Note that the "show" command now takes you back into X3 instead of just returning X3 the the taskbar. This is because just returning X3 to the taskbar made it impossible to see anything in the game when trying to maximize the window.

Okay, if I start X3 and the run this I'm able to view the universe and property screens, so it seems to be working now.

Hopefully it'll work for you too.

Okay, try this:

i tried the new x3hide and i tried to install the original 0.7 version of the rpm, but even if x3hide works fine, i could not get it the universe to show up in my browser. i think there is more a problem with my game than with your program, because everybody else seems to be able to run it... so i will perhaps try the next release of rpm...

Okay, possibly it is due to 2.5 that it doesn't work, I'm not sure.
I might try it with a different version X3 later on.

Sorry it doesn't work though, I'll keep working on x3hide in the meantime.

x3rpm doesn't show up on the Artificial Life plugin settings for me after renaming my pilot "Thereshallbewings". I've restarted both the service and X3 and it still doesn't show up. Ideas?

Yeah, I somehow managed to forget the script that installs it as an AL Plugin

Just download it from here
and place it with the rest of the scripts in your X3 directory and it should work fine.

Sorry for this, it's a fairly annoying oversight on my behalf.

My site has the correction posted on it, I'd recommend checking the site occasionally for any updates/new releases, in case I find more bugs.
