A darn awesome game. A bit dated, but full of stuff. (Especially if you like traveling.) And, its construction set was pretty decent, too. I remember building a "cave base" with it.
Worth the effort for anyone who hasn't played it and likes single-player FPS/Third with ARPG elements. (aka - Skyrim) Best thing - Those big walking gasbag zeppelin thingies. Great concept. I don't remember if they actually flew/walked anywhere, though, in vanilla.

I think, you mean the Netch. Yes, they floated and could be pretty beasty if attacked. Morrowind is in my opinion the best part of thE TES series so far. More RPG than FPS - since arrows neatly shot at an opponents head would miss if your skill is too low. Only drawback/flaw of that game is it's rather old grafics (mods can improve that very much) and Cliffracers (those can be modded too).
Epic story, tons of side quests and the occasional easter egg. I very much recommend it.

Loved the game. And, yeah, there are some mods out there that really perk up Morrowind's graphics.Cpt.Jericho wrote: ↑Wed, 27. Mar 19, 00:13... Only drawback/flaw of that game is it's rather old grafics (mods can improve that very much) and Cliffracers (those can be modded too).

Maybe a tad bit overdone and could use some work in some areas, but this is very nice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeTS7xt1WRA

Isn't this the game with a lot of Youtube videos about how bad it was in reality?

You are correct.
But, I don't agree that it was a bad game. And, now it's offered up for free for a limited time thanks to it's 25'th (?) anniversary celebration. There's vids on Oblivion and Skyrim and how "bad" they were, too.

Re: Steam/GOG etc - Free Stuff (or very, very cheap)
Yeah but Oblivion and Skyrim both benefited hugely from several changes made from Morrowind.
The first is the quest marker. I know purists call this "easy mode" but without it Morrowind suffered from the
"Where the Heck am I supposed to now go to complete this quest" problem.
Morrowind didn't have the latter games's levelling system and it sorely needed it. It was made worse by way
combat and spells were implemented. This whole failure to hit mechanic was an exercise in pain, especially in the early
game. When you only seemed to have a 1% chance to actually hit anything and just about everything you encountered
travelling was deadly to the new player it wasn't all that much fun.

If you are interested in Tropico 6 (out tomorrow) one of Germanys most famous (and probably kindest) YouTube streamers "Gronkh" got a deal with Kalypso: Instead of getting a 20% cut for every sold copy over his affiliate link, the buyers get 20% off instead! On top of the 10% preorderbonus! This is 35€ instead of 50€ or 38€ instead of 55€ for the special edition.
This voucher works on the EU shop as well. Use zhe Code "EL-LURCHO" here:
https://www.kalypsomedia.com/eu/games/
And while you are profiting, don't forget to leave him a like on his video, he is a really kind person and just deserves it even if you don't understand German

Seriously! Not trying to promote him or anything but that's the least thing one can do.

Re: Steam/GOG etc - Free Stuff (or very, very cheap)
I remember Oblivion's content-leveling system introduced severe issues... I remember following a path that I HAD to follow if I wanted to get that darn dagger/whatsits at the best possible level, otherwise it would be worthless to me compared to some other items. And, with the leveling and skill system... Oh wow, I remember how dumb that was. "Jump Everywhere for increase in Acrobatics" etc.brucewarren wrote: ↑Thu, 28. So, yeah, the whole franchise up to Skyrim did have some serious issues. And, then there's Skyrim's "Daggersmith" thing and other issues. One thing I missed in Skyrim was the ability to create your own spells. That was something carried over from the earliers TES games. In Skyrim, not so much, though you did have some interesting crafting options IIRC.

I really tried to get into the Tropico thing, since I love those sorts of building/sim/management things. But, I just couldn't get into the "theme" very well. I understand it, I just didn't like the feeling of actually being a ruthless dictator no matter that the player is always a ruthless dictator in similar games. Not a fan of the music, either, and not sure why that was such a turnoff for me.
But, kudos to him for getting a discount for his fans! (I won't "Like" his vid, since I never sign in to Youtube for anything, but I will contribute to having watched it!)
