Ohh looky... murder suspect Derek Chauvin and his wife have been charged with 9 counts of tax fraud going back as far as 2014. tsk tsk.

I do kind of feel sorry for her, she has been dragged into it and she had nothing to do with any of it, apart from being married to him.
More from the UK. Bozo the clown is coming to Scotland today (Thursday) and the Scottish government is having nothing to do with him. I'm expecting some kind of demonstration if he appears in front of the Scottish people, he is not exactly liked or wanted up here, he would be better off just staying down south in London.

She isn't being charged with murder, she's being charged with tax fraud. Every citizen of this country has a moral and civic obligation to pay their taxes. She and her husband didn't, apparently close to 500k worth. I don't feel sorry for the greedy.

Now there's a surprise Bozo being accused of telling lies. When it comes to telling lies, he only comes second to Trump, the grandmaster at lying.

Like this is any surprise. The old joke "How can you tell a politician is lying? His lips are moving." isn't actually all that inaccurate!felter wrote: ↑Thu, 30. Re: Random News not worthy of own thread
Has anyone ever found him telling the truth? I mean... my favourite is still Andrew Neil. Listen to how it starts "get it right, Andrew..." and contrast it to the end where Boris is basically overtalking to avoid answering with the "good will of both parties" as a means of completely ignoring the "what you propose will not work due to the clause above the one you're hoodwinking people with".felter wrote: ↑Thu, 30. You cannot trust anything that guy said. He's more spin doctor than Prime Minister. The only vaguely exciting thing about having him as a Prime Minister is you don't know where you are going, what'll come out of it, nor if you'll even live. For adrenaline junkies he's the perfect PM.
Re: Random News not worthy of own thread
My mother's 83 and has a dodgy hip, yet she still loves Boris for some reason--and she's about as far from an adrenaline junkie as you'll find!
Re: Random News not worthy of own thread
Remember the Twitter hack from a few weeks back, you know the one where they hacked into Twitter and used the likes of Gates, Musk and Obama twitter page to scam bitcoins with the promise of doubling bitcoins sent to them, well it turns out they have caught the the ones behind it. A 19 year old from Bogner Regis on the south coast of England, a 17 year old from Tampa and a 22 year old from Orlando Florida. So that kind of explains how it was not exactly crime of the century and seemed more, lets get this done and over with.

Re: Random News not worthy of own thread
To carry on with the Twitter hack case. There was a hearing today to discus the bail amount for the main suspect in the case, as he wanted the bail amount reduced, as it stands they want $750k bail, which I do think is a little excessive. Anyway they were doing the hearing over zoom, which was on an open meeting and was continually interrupted by fake BBC and CNN reporters. At one point the judge even suspended the meeting due to the interruptions, but they started up again when he restarted the hearing. I think the last straw was when someone started screening porn and the judge saying that future hearings would probably require a password.
You just cant make this stuff up, as it would look so unrealistic, if it happened in a film it would be slated for it.
Anyhow BBC coverage as I know some folk here don't like to just talk about things, they need the evidence.

This people is illiterate. Just that. They don't have a clue on how things work on the web. It's too easy, but I'm shocked they didn't even try to avoid their PUBLIC zoom call being "hacked".felter wrote: ↑Wed, 5. Aug 20, 20:27To carry on with the Twitter hack case. I wonder what he would have done if the boar had turned round and started running at him instead? What did he intend to do if he had caught it? Talk about being vulnerable to the odd tusk or bristle!

Re: Random News not worthy of own thread
Probably, but first to OEMs (although OEMs have already had something similar, perhaps more proprietary). ASRock announced an ATX12VO board in May.
Rumours say that Ampere/NVidia's 3000 serie might have a 12-pin (600W) power connector instead of the 6-pin/8-pin ones. Unrelated to ATX12VO, but will probably add life* to PSU-landscape.

Interesting about giving way on exit - imagine that'll be a new one to most.
Other than the amusement of a roundabout being closed before it officially "opens" (operating with temporary traffic lights ), it cost £2,300,000 as well - up from the original estimate of £800,000. Blimey - what a bargainThe UK's first Dutch-style roundabout has had to close for three nights after it was damaged by a hit-and-run driver.
The £2.3m roundabout on Fendon Road, Cambridge, which gives priority to cyclists and pedestrians, was damaged the day before it officially opened on 31 July.

Re: Random News not worthy of own thread
So we have had some thunder and lightning here tonight, it has been going on for probably around the last 3 to 4 hours and it is just a constant rumbling of thunder and flashes of lightning every 1 to 3 seconds. I have never seen anything like it before. The lightning itself isn't like the lightning we normally get, as it is just dancing along in the clouds, and there is no rain. Normally when we get lighting it pours down with rain while the thunder and lightning rocks every 5 to10 minutes or so flashing it's way to earth, but normally it isn't even as bad as that. This is something else, it's pretty spectacular but scary at the same time. it reminds me of those television pictures of a war scene, where they are constantly dropping bombs on a city where all you see is the persistent flashes and bangs of the bombs going off. As I said I've never seen anything like this before and I'm no a youngster I've seen a few storms over the years.

Nvidia might be announcing Geforce Ampere on Aug 31, 2020 or Sept 1, 2020?
