Illegal workers get paid under the table. Usually, they get paid less than prevailing "legal" wages. The employer gets more for his dollar, the government gets none.

Wouldn't the better strategy to be going after the person who is employing them rather than the people being taken advantage of?

We do that, but the fines are often less than what the business gains by hiring illegals. It's a cat and mouse game between illegals, employers and the government. All in the cause of the almighty dollar.

It appears that Mexico is going to do what it should have been doing all along. That is, all refugees must seek asylum in the first country they enter upon fleeing theirs. Ah, so am i mistaken that the discussion wasn't about money going abroad from migrants working but was about immigration and refugee status as per UN guidelines? Over the last decade migrants children dying in US custody was rare (most sources say nonexistent, but I can't verify this) but in the last 9 months at least 6 have died . . . . . . . probably many more, verifiable information is hard to extract from these places.

I just checked and the antifa subreddit isn't quarantined. Those cowards actually do condone and have committed acts of violence. I doubt I will convince you that there is a double standard on reddit and the motivation of quarantining the_donald was political and not administrative. I'm going to use satire to illustrate a hypothetical future that you don't realize you are headed toward.

It's 20something40 or whatever. You just dissented on facebook that your employer shouldn't have to accommodate people who identify as penguins because the new climate friendly refrigerant mandated to be used in all HVAC systems is not capable of simulating the antarctic conditions the penguin-kin employee needs in their safe space. Your trade is HVAC and you know the demands for subzero temperatures being made are impossible. Despite your intimate knowledge grounded in science you were just flagged for hate speech and notified that the police will be dispatched to your residence. You sit there in anguish nibbling on your vegan steak substitute pre-cut into bite size portions because cows were banned for the climate and you aren't allowed to own a knife to cut your food. In another news: The US requested soldiers from my country to participate in ground operations in syria, i'm happy to report my country diplomaticly refused, we will think about a form of support we can lend in the future that doesn't involve sending our people into harms way.
