You toy with ideas I think are dangerous.
I get the dislike of Hilary, and I even get the concerns around "socialism". What I don't get is the extent of that dislike and those concerns (which I think are largely unfounded, or at least grossly exaggerated). When you combine that with the costs of "preventing both Hilary and "socialism"", which seems to require at least a tacit support of Trump, and that results in a massive attack on and undermining of every institution that has helped make the US what it is, I end up pretty bewildered.
I can't breathe.

I just don't get why Trumpians seem so incapable of beeing critical of Trump, i'm pretty sure that most Obama got criticized by his base too for plenty of things, as he should be. Why are there not even one or two things Trumpians can say about, "Well he didn't handle that situation as well as i hoped he would" or "I wished he would have done that by now". It's just scary indeed, and makes the whole "cult of Trump" thing not seem so far-fetched, the way Trumpians behave concerning Trump would set of alarm bells for me whoever the object of worship is. (that's including whatever god one believes in).

Trump's BS about the wall:

There was a guy I used to go drinking with who was pretty in to climbing.
His drunken party piece was climbing lamp posts. Depending on exactly how drunk he was he could get up one in between about 10s and a minute.
That wall section looks roughly a tall as a lamp post. . . and a lot less cylindrical.

Oh I can answer that. When he says "Make America Great Again", that message is meant directly for the straight "christian" white male population. Trump has given legitimacy to the white nationalist/neo-fascist/KKK groups and their sympathizers. They've been terrified for decades that sooner or later, white males will no longer be in control. Even worse, they will no longer be in the majority.

Trump has played ignorant when it comes to the KKK. Let's not forget, publicly, Trump has also said the neo-Nazi groups protesting in Charlottesville were "very fine people" as well. Yes, he did later come walk these instances back. But the very fact that he didn't immediately denounce these groups at the first given opportunity provides them the voice they've been long denied in government.

Look at the majority of his policies. They have disproportionately impacted Hispanic, Arabic, Asian, and African immigration, legal or otherwise. His stance on immigration have favored whites above all.

I know his racism is not news by now. But to answer the question directly, a good chunk of white people in the US are terrified of becoming a minority race. After Obama and his policies that favored equality, Trump has been their answer to that and they want nothing more than for him to succeed in keeping America white.

That's been my observation as well.

Usually this fear comes through words like: Christian, tradition, heritage, values.

jfc... this is STILL going on? Trump needs to keep his idiotic ass out of the weather reporting business, or, anything relating to factual event reporting because his repeated attempts at lying and forcing people to comply with his fairy tales are destabilizing agencies that need the public's trust above all.

The NWS should never be put in a position to have to back up a lie from the White House. There's just nothing good that can come from it.

That's a pretty stupid news story, it doesn't lead anywhere, just says people were angry and upset and they let others know it and that's it. So what's new about it, we all know Trump did it, we all know he was an idiot about it (nothing new there) and we all know it pissed people off. The thing they never mention is what happened with the hurricane hitting Alabama or didn't it.

You would be better with the story that Trump has been ordered by the courts to pay $2 million for his scam charity foundation, and he has to pay it personally, with the $2 million going to 8 charities that the Trump organization has no ties to. Meanwhile Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump have all been ordered to receive mandatory training "on the duties of officers and directors of charities".

Well the thing, for me, is that he spent all of his energy for a week and a half on this dumb ass lie. And here we are what, 2 months later, NOAA and the NWS are still spending time on this dumb shit. All of this because he couldn't admit he was wrong, or even just say he got bad information.

It's not what the article is about that's the problem, it's just that it's just a bad article about something that is ongoing. It misses out a lot of things, for example it mentions the unsigned statement by NOAA, but they don't mention either that the statement was order to be made by Wilbur Ross or that there is 8 different legal investigations ongoing into the statement. You managed to say what that news story said, but you managed to do it in 62 words or 293 characters. As I said it's just a bad news article, one that looks like it was hurriedly put together to fill in an empty space.

Trump never called any form of nazi whatever very fine people. You are repeating fake news. I watched recordings from the events in Charlottesville and I saw Trump's press conference happen live. I saw the same things Trump spoke about. Alt-right and antifa fascists were undeniably brawling in the streets. Trump condemned both of those groups. He was referring to the people not involved in that and present just to protest or support the removal of Lee's statue. They were the very fine people. Not the racists or antifa.

This is the complete very fine people quote. The second is when he later reinforced what he said.

“Excuse me, they didn’t put themselves down as neo-Nazis, and you had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group – excuse me, excuse me, I saw the same pictures you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.”

“I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and white nationalists because they should be condemned totally.”

The very fine people lie will not die. I saw Biden use it one of his campaign speeches. It's a big fat manufactured hoax.

I get that you're utterly opposed to anything Democrat (*Soviet* Socialism is something they're very far off indeed), but that doesn't mean you have to support Donald Trump. If you were given the choice, would you out him from office in favor of another, better, Republican candidate?
Ted Cruz lost the primary to Trump. I voted for him first. My biggest concern is seeing the individual liberties protected by the Constitution upheld with the intent of the people who wrote them. Cruz had the legal background there and the same views I did. He just had no charisma and was plagued by the same unwillingness to rock the boat as the rest of the GOP. If I had hope for anyone in the GOP to be president I would probably like to give a chance to Rand Paul. I can't put him out as a candidate if I think he won't win though. An imperfect GOP guy is better for me than any democrat even while I don't fully agree with the GOP.

dude, stfu. the entire protest from the trumpanzie crowd was full of neo-Nazi white nationalists and Trump very clearly said there were "Very fine people on both sides". There were only 2 sides there unless you're insinuating there was an invisible 3rd faction involved. Anyway, your president is a racist asshole, the whole world knows it. get bent.

You have the right to your opinion and I to mine. I don't think you were at that protest to make a statement like that with any credibility. You attacked your president with something that was not true.

I watched it too, and I watched him call neo-Nazi's very fine people. I really don't care what you say until you're ready to condemn the orange idiot. The thing is, you're in the same company as people like David Duke and Steve King. If the KKK thinks what Trump is doing is a good idea, any decent person would stop and ask themselves if maybe they shouldn't be on their side. But you never did. You continue to support the racist policies and actions of that orange moron, just like the KKK does. You try to justify his every word, blame socialism, blame the press, blame democrats, cry hoax and witch hunt and all of the things you're supposed to do because your leader said do it. Never once did you stop and consider if maybe you were supporting the wrong things to get whatever it is you want, either that or you really do want the president to be a racist. Either way, you're just as culpable as he is, perhaps even more so. Until that clicks for you, your words are as empty as the space between the ears of your idiot in chief.

Well it doesn't really matter what his political ideas are at this moment now does it, with the amount of lies he's told, his stupidity constantly on display coupled with mind-boggling incompetency, his utter negative effect on an already utterly divided country. There's just not anything great about this man. I know plenty of people that are right wing and would in principle agree with what once where Trumps political guidelines (apart from the wall, nobody i've ever met no matter how anti foreigner they are thinks that's a good idea), none of them would want a Trump like figure spearheading their ideas, simply because they don't want to be tossed on the same heap is this orange moron.

The man is just offensively stupid. Trumpians supporting him at this point either are the same, or so full of hate/fear they ignore the stupidity or the lies, either way no reason to respect any of them at this point.

You are so very right. Real republicans are completely baffled at how their party has been upended by this man child. Whatever it is that the Trumpanzies are, it isn't republican.

And then you get Trumpanzies that have dug this pit, look up to those of us who vehemently oppose them and their leader and beg us to come jump in their pit so we can "have civil discourse again", as if it's our job to stoop down to their level. Screw that. Fill the pit with concrete and forget they were ever there.
